Covering three hundred acres of the greenest grass, the oldest trees and the most scenic shore line that the west of Ireland has to offer, Lough Rynn Castle Estate & Gardens contains the ancestral home of the legendary Lord Leitrim and his family, the Clements. This magnificent Victorian Manor, the finest of the big homes made famous in Ireland during that era, stood majestically against the backdrop of Lough Rynn for more than 200 years, until it was lovingly brought back to life by a passionate and dedicated father and son team.
When Irish father and son Alan and Albert Hanly set out to restore this magnificent place to its former glory, they did so with one goal in mind. They were determined to create a 21st century destination filled with the luxury, food and experience one should rightly expect from such a magical place. They promised to do so while maintaining the charm and elegance that has remained within its wall since the first stone was laid. Now, as a member of the Hanly Castle Hotel Group, Lough Rynn Castle Estate & Gardens is standing by to welcome you through its historic doors.

A PATHWAY FROM PAST TO PRESENT
Peacefully tucked away to the corner of the main castle lies a place with an ironically colourful history. The walled gardens of Lough Rynn started as a focal point of the estate and quickly became a talking point of all those who visited the castle. Over the years that followed however, it fell into disrepair, became massively overgrown and eventually grew to the point where it became hard to even see. When Lough Rynn Castle was purchased, with the goal to restore it to its former glory, restoring the beauty of its once famous gardens became a project with equal importance.
Not only has the walled garden once again regained its reputation as one of the most stunning sights on the estate, its fruits, vegetable and herbs have become an important player in the food we produce in our award-winning kitchen. Everything grown on the first tier, of what we call the ‘working garden’, is brought into the chefs to turn into the mouth-watering dishes our guests enjoy in the Sandstone Restaurant and the delicious jams they enjoy at breakfast.

Lough Rynn Castle Estate & Gardens is situated on the shores of one of the most picturesque lakes in Europe. Less than 5km from the centre of the beautiful town of Mohill, County Leitrim, it is a gateway to Ireland’s famous Western region and its most famous feature, the Wild Atlantic Way. With Dublin Airport just a 90 minute drive away, Shannon International Airport just a 2.5 hour drive away and connecting flights to most major European and US cities from both, we really are at the heart of the action.
