When masks become a problem!

It’s disappointing to see people discarding their masks around the town and canal.  How could anyone think it’s fair for other people to pick up their possibly infected masks?  Another possible danger to children is the unthoughtful and carelessness of some adults.  I would like to appeal to anyone doing this to bin them but unfortunately we are one of the very few towns in Ireland with no litter bins so please bring them home or drop them into supermarkets waste bins.

I wear a mask in public for three reasons:

Humility: I don’t know if I have COVID as it is clear that people can spread the disease before they have symptoms.

Kindness: I don’t know if the person I am near has a child battling cancer, or cares for their elderly mom. While I might be fine, they might not.

Community: I want my community to thrive, businesses to stay open, employees to stay healthy. Keeping a lid on COVID helps us all!

And please discard the mask in the bin
