RIP Patsy Prior
RIP Patsy Prior - Deep sadness today as we hear of the passing of one of Leitrim’s greatest footballers, a man who proudly wore the colours of both Ballinamore and Aughawillan.
Patsy was one of the outstanding players on the great Ballinamore Seán O’Heslin’s teams of the 1960s and early 1970s. He won no fewer than six Leitrim Senior Championships with Ballinamore — his first in 1964, followed by a famous three-in-a-row from 1967 to 1969, and later successes in 1972 and 1973. At midfield he formed a formidable partnership with the legendary Thomas Galligan, a pairing that powered the club through one of the most successful eras in its proud history.
When his native Aughawillan reformed in the mid-1970s, Patsy returned home and added two more Senior Championships in 1976 and 1978, bringing his remarkable total to eight county titles — a phenomenal achievement that cements his place among the true greats of both clubs.
Patsy was more than a brilliant footballer — he was a true great footballing man. His commitment to his clubs spanned decades, through good times and difficult days alike. From his playing days to his leadership and guidance off the field with Aughawillan , he gave tirelessly to ensure his club and community continued to thrive.
He was respected by teammates, opponents and supporters alike. His loss will be felt far beyond the sidelines.
The GAA and the community has lost one of its finest clubmen, and Aughawillan and Ballinamore have lost a true great.
Deepest sympathy to all Patsys friends and family at this difficult time.

DCU Dóchas Éireann All-Ireland Intermediate title Winners
Congratulations to our very own Paul Moran on captaining DCU Dóchas Éireann to the All-Ireland Intermediate title on Monday evening with a great win over Ulster University.
It was a brilliant achievement, and typical of Paul, he was back training with the club the very next day.
Everyone at the club is absolutely delighted for him. A great example for our younger players and a proud moment for us all. Well done Paul.
Membership
Club membership is now on sale for the coming season. All details can be found on the Foireann App.
With the season now starting, it’s important that all players have their membership paid in advance of training sessions and matches.
Leitrim GAA
it was a very good win for the ladies, who recorded another excellent victory in difficult conditions. Aoibhin, Lucy and Laura were all in action as Leitrim overcame Wicklow in Ballinamore, showing great determination despite the challenging weather.
The men will be disappointed with the result against Antrim in Carrick, where Tom, Michael, Donal and Paul lined out as part of the squad, but their effort and commitment throughout the game cannot be faulted.
Despite the poor weather, the pitch and facilities in Ballinamore were in excellent condition and a real credit to everyone. A sincere thank you and well done to all our volunteers for their hard work and time, which ensured everything ran so smoothly on the day.
