The second semi-final of the Francis McGirl Cup sponsored by the Aughnasheelin
Gun Club was played last Friday night in the Poor Scholar, between McGirl’s and
Jackie’s.Before the game started it was expected to be a very close game, but it
turned out to be a bit one sided, McGirl’s winning on a score line of (5) games to (1).
Thanks to all who supported our raffle and to Dawn who sold tickets, thanks to
Ciaran and Michael Hearty for marking the board, thanks to David for lovely hot food
on the night.The final of the competition between McGirl’s and the Poor Scholar will
be played on Friday night the 2 nd of March in Freddie’s.Good luck to Leitrim men’s
and women’s teams in the All Ireland next weekend.

Fenagh Drama Troupe 
It is now count down time to Fenagh Drama Troupe stage production of Jimmy
Keary hilariously funny 3 Act Comedy, The Maiden Aunt in Fenagh Community
Centre on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd March at 8:30pm (Doors open
at 7:30pm).This side splitting comedy will have audiences rolling with laughter from
the curtain rises until it falls.Dont miss a marvellous nights entertainment.

A go for life keep fit programme organized by Ballinamore women’s group takes
place in the park for 6 weeks starting on Monday 19th February at 1pm and
continuing for the following 6 Mondays. It is free and everybody is welcome.

The Irish Cancer Society operates a free transport service
for patients attending hospital for chemotherapy treatment.Volunteer Drivers pick
the patient up at the door of their home, drop them at the hospital door, and then
when finished treatment, will pick them up and drop them home.Volunteer expenses
are paid.Patients wishing to avail of this free service should contact their healthcare
professional,visit the Society’s website at irishcancer.ie or contact the Irish Cancer

Seamus O Rourke coming in aid of Ballinamore Childcare
Seamus O Rourke is coming to Ballinamore Community Centre in aid of Ballinamore Childcare
on Friday the 2nd of March at 8pm with his latest production From Under The Bed.
Seamus Production will be followed by a short drama "An Irish Wake" performed by
the Rehabcare Service Users. Tickets are €15 and on sale now from all staff and
board members and in Phillip Murphys newsagents. You can also phone

Ballinamore are excited to announce that our Drama Group will be performing their
play " An Irish Wake" at Ballinamore Community Centre on Friday the 2nd of March.
We have been kindly invited by Ballinamore childcare to perform our play following
their own fundraiser the fantastic production "From Under the Bed " Written by
Seamus O Rourke which starts at 8pm. This is a great opportunity for our group to
showcase their talents to a bigger audience and we hope to see as many members
of the local community support our Service Users as possible. We will be performing
our short play directly after " From under the bed . Tickets can be purchased for 15

Parish Pastoral Council are hosting 3 talks during Lent :
Wed Feb 21 st : Coping with Grief and loss – Our first talk is by Patricia Hannon
Bereavement and loss Counsellor who will speak about the different emotions and
stages of grief and how it affects us all individually. Patricia will share from her own
personal experience and from the many people she has supported throughout the
years. She will also outline how we can best help and support a person who has
experienced the loss of a loved one.
Wed Feb 28th : Family and Spirituality – Dominic Peron is a broadcaster with a
Christian radio station and will speak about faith and family. As a father himself of
young children Dominic will share his insights on why faith is important and ways of
nurturing this faith in our families.
Wed March 14th : Internet safety and drug and Alcohol Awareness - Hugh Brady will
give insights on how to keep our children safe on the internet, what parents have to
look out for and what practical steps to take to ensure this safety. Grainne Duignan
works with the Foroige on the Youth Alcohol and drug education/prevention project
and will speak about drug and Alcohol use in our young people and the programmes
that is being currently run with our youth here in Ballinamore.
All Talks will take place in Ballinamore Community Centre at 8pm. Everyone most

Workshop for Choirs: An evening ‘Workshop for Choirs’ with the Irish Church Music
Association will take place on Wednesday 28 th February at 7.30pm. All parish choirs

St Patrick’s Day Parade
oh It,s time to organise the St. Patricks Day parade... WE NEED HELP..... New ideas
and hands on deck please. This will definitely be my last year (Dawn) as I already
have plans and will not be around for next year’s parade. So I am happy enough to

train someone in this year (It won’t take long). The parade needs fresh blood with
new energy and there are plenty of you out there with that, so if interested please

The parade will take place on St. Patricks Day, the time and theme to be decided.
