Source to Tap Roadshow Event Ballinamore Library 

Do you have an interest in the rivers and lakes in the Erne catchment area? Then come along to meet other like-minded individuals at  Ballinamore Library, Thursday 18 January 2018 18:00-19.30. A presentation on the Source to Tap project will be given and will be followed by a discussion around raising awareness of the importance of protecting our precious drinking water resource and how You can get involved. Light refreshments will be provided. Free admission. All welcome.

Recent deaths: We pray for the soul of Seán Gallagher formerly of Drumrackin Aughnasheelin whose funeral took place on Thursday. Memorial mass Sunday 21st 12noon Aughnasheelin Church. We also pray for the soul of Anna Janeczek  (formerly McTague, Drumbibe) who died recently in Connecticut, USA. 


Children’s Exhibition 2018 at Solas Art Gallery

Saturday the 20th January 2017 sees the opening of the 11th Children’s Exhibition at Solas Art Gallery, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim. Each year at this time a riot of colour ascends the walls of Ballinamore’s community gallery produced by children through the schools in the locality and surrounding areas of Co. Leitrim. Individual entries of any art genre (must be A4 size) are also welcome. Last day for drop off to the gallery is Friday 12th January at 6pm.

Up to 300 works of all genres and from all age groups up to Leaving Certificate and will no doubt include work of some future artists.

Art nurtures and promotes the best in society and this will be a great opportunity to see the produce of our youth.

The show will be opened at 3pm on Sat 20th January by art teacher Colleen Quinn, well known artist of the Ballinamore area, recognised nationally and internationally.

Ballinamore Bridge Club

Bridge takes place on Thursday 18th January at 7 30pm in the Commercial Hotel. All players very welcome.

Mohill Computer Training – Upcoming Courses in 2018 

Improve your IT and creative skills.  Our part time QQI Level 5 Design Skills and Digital Fabrication Course will begin in early February. This course aims to provide learners with a broad overview of design and digital fabrication skills. We are also offering a range of evening courses beginning in late January including – Internet Security and Basic Computing, Digital Photography and Navigating Modern Living. Improve your Irish 

Irish conversation classes, or Ciorcal Comhrá, will start again in Ballinamore Library on Tuesday, 9 January 2018 at 8.00pm. There are separate groups for relative beginners, for those who have some Irish and for those who are fluent. These classes are a great opportunity to practice the Irish you know and to improve it. Also, Leaving Cert or transitional year students will find it useful for practice for their Irish orals. Classes are free and will run for 10 weeks to mid March.
