Our Harvest Thanks Giving will be Sunday 29th October at 4pm in Ballinamore. Bishop Ferran Glenfield will be attending. Church of Ireland Church Street, Ballinamore, Sunday Service is at 12.15pm every Sunday except on the 4th Sunday which is held in Drumreilly Church, Drumreilly

Ballinamore Bridge Club


Bridge takes on Thursday 19th October at seven thirty.  all players are encouraged to come, new members very welcome.  Game held in the Commercial Hotel


Sports Complex/Den to Rent:

Persons wishing to rent the Sports Complex or The Den (next Door) should call Damien on 087 252 9144.  The rents are for The Complex, single use €30 per hour, for block use (6 or more weeks) €25 per hour.  The Den €20 per/hour. The Den may also be booked for small or large meetings.

Athletic Club

Ballinamore Athletic Club hosted an Athletics Ireland Leader Coaching Course in the Sports Hall on Saturday last. Five Club representatives were among the fifteen participants from four counties who completed the Course which was presented by the AAI Regional Development Officer Paul McKee from Belfast and which aims to prepare leaders for supervising indoor training and sports hall athletics. The skills learned on the Course will be put into effect at the Club Training on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7.00 p.m. New members are always welcome.

Recent Deaths : We pray for the soul of Christy McCartin (Carrickmakeegan & Aughnasheelin) whose funeral took place on Tuesday. We also pray for the soul of Barry Phelan Anville Court, whose funeral took place on Friday also Cannon Brian McNamara retired parish priest of Killesher, Co. Fermanagh whose funeral took place in Derrylin on Friday.

Baptism: We welcome Cara Anna Quinn into our church community as she received the sacrament of Baptism last weekend in Aughawillan. Congratulations to her parents.

Mass for Harvest Thanksgiving: Congratulations to the people of Corraleehan for their beautiful display in their church for the Mass Harvest Thanksgiving on Saturday last. Also a word of gratitude to all who took part in the mass especially the choir. Well done to all, in particular to Tracy the main organiser yet ably assisted by a host of others who displayed wonderful creativity in their arrangements.

Apostolic Society - Annual display takes place in Pastoral Centre Cavan on Sunday October 22nd at 3pm - AGM of Society takes place Sunday November 26th with Mass at 2 30 for deceased members and benefactors. Honorary Subscription now due can be given to Maura Mulvey, thank you all for your subscriptions last year - this money goes to help our missionaries with their work and we have Missionaries from our own area who are doing great work on the Foreign Missions and really appreciate all the help they receive.

Ballinamore Missions Collection: The Ballinamore Apostolic Society is holding a collection for the foreign missions on Sunday 15th October at St. Patrick’s Church. We are a voluntary society and all funds raised goes directly to priests and nuns from the Kilmore Diocese on the foreign missions. New members to help us in the work would be very welcome. We will also have a display of goods on the day.

Apostolic Society A big gur a maith agaibh to all who gave to the Apostolic collection which amounted to €210 Euro which is a big help to our Missionarys.

Athletic Club


Training continues at the Sports Hall on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7.00 p.m. until the time change. Club members will be in action in the Leitrim Primary Schools Cross Country Championships in Kiltoom on Saturday next. New members welcome at any training session.

A Mass for the deceased members of staff of Leitrim County Council will be held in St. Mary’s Church, Carrick-on-Shannon on Monday 13th Nov at 8pm.


Strictly Come Dancing (Sean O’Heslins)


What an excellent night @Priors Ballinamore as the club introduced our dancers to a packed crowd. If the launch night was anything to go by the main event which is in the Slieve Russell on the 18th of November is one not to be missed. Tickets are €20 each for what promises to be an entertaining night and includes entry into draw on the night for €3000. Tickets can be bought directly from the dancers.

In aid of St Christopher's Hospice Cavan takes place on Saturday 28th October 2017. This event will start and finish at Mc Seains Bar Cornafean and will be marked out and stewarded along the route to guide you along the way to whichever distance you decide to participate in. Main sponsors are MacManus Pharmacies Cavan, O'Neill's Pub and Shop in Redhills and Garry Smith from Smith's Catering in Ballyconnell. Over the previous 13 years the Challenge has been an outstanding success raising €367,000 for this wonderful cause. There will be loads of surprises and craic on the day and it will be a fantastic day for the family. Entry fee on the day to participate in the Challenge is voluntary. Anyone wishing to donate to this very worthy cause can do so by leaving donations in the Village Foodstore Crossdoney. All donations are greatly accepted.
