Kilmore Diocesan Youth Pilgrimage to Knock

will take place on Friday 16 June 2017 from 10:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. This pilgrimage is specifically aimed at young people who have just completed 1st, 2nd or 3rd year in post-primary school and will be facilitated by the Young Ministry Team at Knock Shrine. The cost of the day is €10. A Meeting Parents/Guardians of  Altar Servers

A Meeting will be held in Ballinamore Community Centre on Tuesday 13th June at 7pm for Parents/Guardians of  Altar Servers going on the trip to Knock next Sunday. It is essential that at least one parent attends to complete the necessary paperwork.  


World Missions Ireland

The Backpack Programme

Direction for our times will be running 3 Backpack Summer Camps in three locations in the Kilmore Diocese throughout July. One of those locations is Ballinamore, and the camp will take place in Ballinamore Community School from July 17th -21st. For further information contact 083 4877325 or 049 4373040 . Hospitality Course  

This is a full-time course in Hospitality Operations which will commence in July 2017.  The course will take place in the Hospitality Training Kitchen at the Food Hub, Drumshanbo.  The course will run for 42 weeks and participants will gain a Major Award at QQI Level 5 upon successful completion.  The course is funded by MSLETB and the Dept. of Social Protection and managed by Leitrim Development Company.  The course is for individuals who are considering embarking on a career in the hospitality industry and wish to obtain a recognised qualification.  For more information please contact Leitrim Development Company on 071 9641770 or e-mail:  info@ldco.ie 

Creative Writing Group

Anyone interested in joining a new adult Creative Writing Group, which will be held in Ballinamore Library on Mondays, from 11.00am to 12.30pm, commencing in mid-June, please contact the Library on 07196 45566.

Drama Performance in Celebration of Jane Austen 

Ballinamore Library is hosting a short series of drama performance workshops for 8-13 year olds in preparation for a drama performance for the public. This performance will be a scheduled part of the day of celebration of Jane Austen on18 July 2017. The series will be facilitated by Sarah Wood, who is currently a leader with the Leitrim Youth Theatre Company.  

Participants will learn about Jane, the time she lived in, and explore some of her work through drama using improvisation, devising, rehearsal and performance techniques and have loads of fun too!   

 Participants must be available and willing to make commitment to attend ALL of the following schedule:  

Monday, 26 June 12pm - 1.30pm, Monday, 03 July 12pm - 1.30pm, Monday, 10 July 12pm - 1.30pm , Monday, 17 July 12pm - 1.30pm  

Tuesday, 18 July   5pm – Performance at 6.00pm. Limited places available, so booking is essential. To book a place contact Ballinamore Library on 071 9645566 before Wednesday, 21 June. This is a free event. 

Athletic Club

A number of our members are in action in the Connacht Championships in Sligo this weekend and next.  General Club training will conclude for the summer on Thursday evening next with special arrangements for national event qualifiers. 

Ballinamore Outreach Service

offers advice and support around various things including housing, social welfare, education/training. activities for children, support groups,parenting supports, personal devolpment and Parent and Toddler Group.  It is based in Ballinamore Library Wednesdays 12noon-1pm.  For more information call Laura on 086 6035977 

Kilmore PTAA fun walk/run

will take place on Saturday evening, 17th June in Ballyconnell.

Corraleehan Heritage & Cultural Society 

The Annual Bonfire in Corraleehan will be held on St. Johns Eve, Friday the 23rd June at 7pm. Bonfire Night is always a fun tradition to remember our past, pray for the year ahead and bond with our community,with live music, scéal agus craic.Musicians please bring your instruments, Songbirds your voices and Dancers your shoes. Cul Camp : Registration for Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps 2017 is currently underway online via the website, https://www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie/booking/ . Please note: The online booking facility will close at noon on the Wednesday preceding the week of the camps. This year and going forward, Registrations will NOT be accepted on the first morning of camp.
