Irish Dancing Success

Travelling to Feiseanna in, Bray, Co. Wicklow, Celbridge, Co. Kildare, Ballina, Co. Mayo and Malahide, Co. Dublin the Mc Cartin SD was once again successful in their respective outings. SCÓR The County final of Scor Sinsear will take place in Mayflower Drumshanbo on Sat March 11 at 8pm. The table quiz will take place at the same venue on March 11 before the other scor disciplines at 6.30pm but not later than 6.45pm, so we hope our quiz team will be able to participate.

GAA Nurseries Group

Folks we are at the very early stages of looking at setting up a nursery group for children from 4 till 8 for Seán O Heslins and are trying to gauge what the interest would be.  This would be a fun filled enterprise where children both boys and girls would be given an introduction to sport in a fun filled way  GAA Nurseries  generally focus on a series of fun based exercises where children between 4 to 8years old develop movement and motor skills in a safe environment with their friends.   The emphasis is on fun, involvement and then skills.  If you would like to express your interest please contact Michael by text on 0863906791 or message us on the Club facebook page.

 “Moll” In Fenagh

On Sunday night 9th April at 8.30pm 'The Sliabh an Iarainn Players '  in association with  Castlefore Development Fenagh will stage their very successful play 'Moll'  in the Community Centre in Fenagh. 'Moll' is regarded as John B. Keane's most comical play and has given past  audiences a great nights entertainment with loads of laughs. It is a great testament to any production that some people came twice and three times to see it such was their enjoyment. The great reviews received and the demand from a large number of people convinced the group to stage it again. The very talented cast come from Leitrim, Cavan. Longford and Roscommon. Tish Dunleavy plays the title role 'Moll' and she brings her own very unique humour and comedy to the part. The other characters are all played by a very talented cast under the direction of Frank Cadam. A great night’s entertainment is guaranteed and a very worthy cause will benefit from the night. Oesophageal Cancer Fundraiser

A part-time BEGINNERS COMPUTERS CLASS (FETAC LEVEL 3) & IMPROVERS COMPUTERS CLASS (FETAC LEVEL 4) will commence on the 20th of March at Drumshanbo Enterpirise Centre. Diabetes Public Information Evening

Volunteer at the Cavan, Cootehill Michaela Foundation Summer Camp: Michaela Foundation are currently recruiting enthusiastic individuals aged 17+ to volunteer at their Summer Camp for girls in St. Aidan's Comprehensive School, Cootehill from 24th – 28th July. At Camp, girls aged 11-13 will engage in a range of volunteer-led activities based on Michaela Foundation’s five core elements; Fun, Faith, Fashion, Well-being and Fáilte. SOS- Shave our Sean and Dawn! Best of Luck to Sean and Dawn!

On the 1st of April 2017 an event will take place in the Poor Scholar, Ballinamore. The McKeon Family and friends will take part in a head shave. This event will include many people but one of the main features on the night will involve Dawn’s dad Sean. The last time Sean was clean shaven was March 1970!   Also on the night Dawn, her sisters and some of her friends will shave their heads, cut it short and donate their hair. All funds will go to Cancer Research.  St. Patrick’s Day Parade: The parade will take place on Friday 17th March assembling at the Tesco car park. An Nuacht- St. Patricks Day Parade

So I hope you have your costumes nearly finished. Again this year we hope to make the parade the best, so we need everyone to get involved.. The Kilturbrid Pipe Band will be in full swing along with platform entertainment.. 

You can join in by entering a float, singing or dancing or simply enjoying the entertainment. There are various prizes for different categories best on foot, best themed, most humorous, best window display, best dressed and many more. Any new ideas would be greatly welcomed. The theme this year is ‘An Nuacht – make it your own’ you can make your own news up whether it is topical or about your business or anything else it’s up to you (but be nice). The parade will take place on Friday 17th March assembling at the Tesco car park. All floats/groups are asked to meet at 3.30pm for the parade at 4pm. We would ask people with floats please please not to throw sweets out to parade goers on the day - it is a safety hazard.  As always any person willing to help should please contact the above. Now Get those Green White and Gold colours washed.

Ballinamore Sing Together

All members are asked to attend the meeting. Ballinamore Sing Together social singing group will run for six sessions on Wednesday evenings 7-9pm on 1st March in the Community Centre then Trahnona for the weeks afterwards. We will learn easy harmony songs, strengthen your voice and confidence and have fun. We sing a bit of everything - Gospel, Folk, Pop and Sacred.  Everyone welcome.
