Whist Drive

The Monthly Whist Drive has resumed after the Christmas break and the next whist drive is on Thursday next 2nd March in the Community Centre at 8:30p. look forward to seeing all our regulars (and maybe some new players) on Thursday night, all card players are welcome to come along and enjoy a good social night out , tea and refreshments served at interval and great prizes to be won. Come along, bring a friend and please support. Look forward to seeing you there.

‘My Aunty Bee’

Seamus O'Rourke brings his brand new production 'My Aunt Bee' to Ballinamore Community Centre on Friday 3rd March at 8.30pm where he will co-star with Eileen Ward.  It is a fundraiser for Ballinamore Childcare and tickets are priced €15. They are available from Ballinamore Childcare located at the former Technical School (071) 9644904, at Jackie's Lakeland Bar or from any staff or board member.

Ballinamore Drama Festival

The Drama Festival in Ballinamore will be officially opened this year by
Seamus O’ Rourke at 8 pm on Sunday March 5 and continues until March 12. Please note the new starting time of 8pm

An Nuacht- St. Patricks Day Parade.

Yes it’s that time of year again. Thank you all for the great effort made over the years. Again this year we hope to make the parade the greatest, so we are asking for your help in doing this. You can join in by entering a float, singing or dancing or simply enjoying the entertainment. There are various prizes for different categories best on foot, best themed, most humorous, best window display, best dressed and many more. Any new ideas would be greatly welcomed.


The theme this year is ‘An Nuacht – make it your own’ you can make your own news up whether it is topical or about your business or anything else it’s up to you (but be nice).

The parade will take place on Friday 17th March assembling at the Tesco car park. We also have the Kilturbrid Pipe Band joining the celebrations. All floats/groups are asked to meet at 3.30pm for the parade at 4pm. Save the Date

A concert will be held in St. Patrick’s Church Ballinamore on Sunday 23rd April in aid of the “Care of The Age”. More information to follow. 

Aughnasheelin community First Responder CPR & AED Group.

The above group has been existence since 2008, our role is to provide  a voluntary response to an emergency within the community or where needed in the event of someone collapsing suddenly, and requiring basic Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and follow up with use of Automated External Defibrillation which are available at the Community Centre and football pitch. The group consists of 19 persons spread throughout the community and they attend revalidation training at 4 monthly intervals to ensure they maintain their skills.  It is the group’s responsibility to ensure the AED’s are kept in good working order.  We plan an information evening in the Community Centre on   Monday 6th March at 8:30pm Speaker is Helen & John Martin (a survivor of first responder CPR).  The purpose is to highlight our availability & role in the community.  We will supply an updated list of first responders with their mobile numbers. We would also like to interest new and might i say younger recruits to carry on this community initiative. All welcome refreshments served on the night

This will take place this week: Aughawillan, Corraleehan and Aughnasheelin on Thursday morning and Ballinamore Country Area onThursday afternoon/evening.  Ballinamore Town area will take place Friday morning.

Scoil Chlann Naofa

As a newly amalgamated National School, we will be holding our first Open Day for Enrolment on Wed 1st March in the Junior School 2:30pm. Junior Infants to 6th class welcomed.  

Oesophageal Cancer  Lollipop Collection

This will be held on March 3rd & 4th.  Funds raised each year helps to highlight the disease , promote awareness of the symptoms of this cancer, improve care & treatment to patients & to fund research projects. Thank you 

Ballinamore Women’s Group:

A meeting of Ballinamore Women’s Group takes place on Wednesday 1st March at 8pm. Arrangements will be completed for concert at this meeting. Keep fit classes continue for the next 4 Mondays at 1pm in the park.All are welcome.

Ballinamore Sing Together

All members are asked to attend the meeting. Ballinamore Sing Together social singing group will run for six sessions on Wednesday evenings 7-9pm on 1st March in the Community Centre then Trahnona for the weeks afterwards. We will learn easy harmony songs, strengthen your voice and confidence and have fun. We sing a bit of everything - Gospel, Folk, Pop and Sacred.  Everyone welcome. Pancake night

This will be held in Templeport Resource Centre on Tuesday 28th February. Music by Country Cousins.  Pancakes will be served from 8.00 to 9.00pm Band will play from 9.00 till 11.30pm.  Proceeds in aid of Day Centre.   Please support.
