Darts

Sympathy to the Flynn and Harty family on their recent sad bereavement, from all in Ballinamore darts.  The final of the Francis McGirl Memorial Cup due to be played last Friday night was postponed as a mark of respect to both families.  It will now be played next Friday night the 17th of February.  The finalists are McGirl’s and the Poor Scholar.  The venue is Freddie’s, starting time 10pm.

Saint Vincent de Paul Ballinamore

Would like to thank each and every one who contributed so generously to our annual Christmas Church gate collection. We thank the people of Corraleehan, Aughawillan, Drumreilly, Aughnasheelin, Fenagh and Ballinamore and all who helped out in whatever way. The total monies collected was 5250 Euro .

Ballinamore Drama Festival News

The Drama Festival in Ballinamore this year takes place from Sunday March 5 to Sunday March 12 starting nightly at the new time of 8pm. Season tickets available in Murphy's Newsagents in St Bridget's St Ballinamore

55 Irish Dancers Qualify for All Ireland Championships

Following three days of competition at the recent Connaught Irish Dancing Championships in Breaffy House Resort, Co. Mayo, 55 pupils from the McCartin SD, Drumreilly and Ballinamore have secured their place at the All Ireland Championships which will be held in Citywest Hotel and Conference Centre in May 2017.  The successful dancers, all pupils of Karl Mc Cartin are as follows:

Missing Cross: A beautiful St. Brigid’s Cross made of wickerwood was left in Ballinamore Church to be blessed. When the owner went looking for it, it was missing. If anyone took it by mistake, please leave back to the church. 

Sight Savers: wish to thank all those who bought St. Brigid’s Crosses which were sold at Ballinamore Church. Total amount raised €230

A Collection for The Annual Pilgrimage to Lourdes which is held every two years, takes place on the weekend of the 18th & 19th February. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Athletic Club

Many thanks to all who helped to make the Leitrim Indoor Athletics Championships in the Sports Hall last Sunday such a success and particularly to the Community Council for the use of the facilities.  Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday at 6 00 pm.with new members welcome any evening.
