Darts

There was a great crowd in the Bank Bar for the first semi-final of the Francis McGirl Memorial Cup between McGirl’s and Freddie’s.  The game turned out a bit one sided McGirl’s winning it by (5) games t (0).  Thanks to Ossie for refreshments and for sponsorship of the raffle, thanks to all who bought tickets in the raffle, thanks to Sean Mahon for chalking all the games.  The second semi-final will be played next Friday night the 3rd February between Jackie’s and the Poor Scholar, venue is McGirl’s, starting tine 10 pm sharp.

Ballinamore Whist Drive

WHIST DRIVE (Ballinamore). The Monthly Whist Drive resumes after the Christmas break with the first whist of 2017 on Thursday next 2nd February in the Community Centre at 8:30p. We wish all our supporters a very Happy New Year and look forward to seeing them all ( and maybe some new players) on Thursday night, all card players are welcome to come along and enjoy a good social night out , tea and refreshments served at interval and great prizes to be won,

Aughawillan Drama Troupe

Are on a high rehearsing for the sinfully hilarious play “Drinking Habits”  written by award winning playwright Tom Smith.  This comedy will be performed for your entertainment on the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th of February in Aughawillan Hall at 8.30pmsharp.  Watch and listen out for us in your local notes, newspapers, Shannonside Radio and like us on Aughawillan Drama facebook. Looking forward to seeing you there.  Aughawillan Drama Troupe is made up of enthusiastic amateur actors and volunteers from the parish who donate their time with no hope of personal financial gain.  Aughawillan Drama Troupe is not for profit and the money raised in the community goes back to the community.  The money raised and spent is fully accounted for and records kept.

Knitting Group

Ballinamore Drama Festival

The Drama Festival in Ballinamore this year takes place from Sun 5 - 12. Curtain opens at 8pm and ADM is €10 nightly, Season Ticket €50 for 8 nights, Students/OAPs €6. Lots of comedy plays this year so it will be very entertaining.

Visitation of The Sick : The next visitation of the sick will take place on the Thurs 2nd & Fri 3rd of February. 
Feast of St Brigid:  Wednesday is the Feast of St.Brigid, patron saint of our Parish.  Crosses will be blessed at Tuesday & Wednesday masses & other masses as outlined in the Church Schedule on the front page. You are encouraged to make the pilgrimage to St. Brigid’s Well.  Leaflets for the stations available in the Church porch where you begin the pilgrimage.

The Poor Clares in Galway are hosting a Monastic Experience Day on Saturday, the 4th of February from 10am to 5pm.  The days are designed to help young women between the ages of 21 and 40 to find out more about the Poor Clare way of life with a view to vocation discernment. Fundraiser :A Fundraiser night in aid of Colm Costello’s recovery,  will be held in The Commercial Hotel Ballinamore on Saturday February 4th 2017 at 9pm.

New Alzheimer Support Group

Starting Wednesday 8th of February at 7.30pm. in the Bungalow CAMCAS Ballyconnell, Co Cavan. All families & friends with loved ones suffering from Alzheimer disease are most welcome.

Have you ever considered volunteering in the caring profession?

Now is your chance, RehabCare  in Ballinamore are actively looking for members of the local community  to come and volunteer  in our day service on the golf links road. Volunteers will be initially Garda vetted and following this they will be given a full induction by a permanent staff member. The centre is open Monday to Friday and any hours a volunteer would be willing to give to the service would be greatly appreciated. Athletic Club

The Leitrim Indoor Athletics Championships take place next Sunday (5th) with Manorhamilton the venue.  Training for this event plus the upcoming Leitrim Primary Schools Sportshall Athletics Championship continues Tuesday and Thursday at 6.00.p.m. with new members welcome.

Ballinamore Parent  & Toddler

Situated in Ballinamore Library (our new venue!) Every Wednesday 10.00a.m.-12.000p.m. €2 per week (for tea etc.) All parents/grandparents or child minders who are in the company of babies or toddlers are invited. 

Béal an Átha Móir Seán Ó hEislin

The Club are holding our annual dinner dance in the Landmark Hotel on Saturday February 18th. The victorious Intermediate and Minor championship teams will be presented with their championship medals on the night and we have Music provided by the excellent Dopplezimmers. Knock Shrine Pilgrimage to New York

A special pilgrimage to New York from Knock will take place from 8th -14th May 2017. The Sliabh an Iarainn Players

The  Mohill based Sliabh an Iarainn Players, under the direction of Frank Cadam, will once again take to the stage in 2017 with more top class drama.  We would like to invite anyone interested in being part of a sucessful drama group, or anyone interested in learning a craft, how to act, design sets, lighting, sound and everything else that goes into staging a successful production, to join us for the coming year. Drama helps build your confidence and gives you the chance to meet some great people.  Our aim is to provide top class drama, combined with  good comradrie for everyone involved.
