Aughawillan Drama Troupe

Aughawillan Drama Troupe are on a high rehearsing for the sinfully hilarious play “Drinking Habits”  written by award winning playwright Tom Smith.  This comedy will be performed for your entertainment on the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th of February in Aughawillan Hall at 8.30pm sharp.  Watch and listen out for us in your local notes, newspapers, Shannon side Radio and like us on Aughawillan Drama facebook. Aughawillan Drama Troupe is made up of enthusiastic amateur actors and volunteers from the parish who donate their time with no hope of personal financial gain.  Aughawillan Drama Troupe is not for profit and the money raised in the community goes back to the community.  The money raised and spent is fully accounted for and records kept.


The first semi-final in the Francis McGirl Memorial Cup was cancelled last week due to bereavement.  Sympathy to the McCaffrey family from all at Ballinamore Darts.  
That game will now be played on Friday night the 3rd February between Jackie’s V Poor Scholar, venue is McGirl’s.  The second semi-final between McGirl’s and Freddie’s goes ahead this Friday night the 27th of January.  Venue is the Bank Bar starting time 10.30pm sharp.

Forestry Information Evening

Western Forestry Co-op is holding a Forestry Information evening at 8pm Thurs 26th January in Focus Family Resource Centre, Killeshandra for farmers/landowners/forest owners to learn about the generous grants and the benefits of forestry in the area, the talk will cover both new planting and harvesting.

Ballinamore Women’s Group

A meeting of Ballinamore women’s group takes place on Wednesday 1st February at 8 pm.  Plans for the year will be discussed at this meeting.  All members are asked to attend and new members are welcome.

Ballinamore Bridge Club

The next meeting Thursday 26th January will be at the later time of 7.30 pm..

Parish Pastoral Council Meeting: A Parish Pastoral Council Meeting will be held on Wednesday Jan 25th at 8:30pm in Ballinamore Community Centre. All members please attend.  
Columban Missionaries: " Fr.Oliver McCrossan , a Columban missionary will visit the parish on January 21/22.  He will speak at all the masses on the work of the Columban Missionaries. Columban priests, sisters and lay work in 14 countries around the world."

Knock Shrine Pilgrimage to New York

A special pilgrimage to New York from Knock will take place from 8th -14th May 2017. Thank you Seddie

As most of you know we have a town crib which has moved house this year. For many many years now the crib comes and goes and many of you may not know who was behind it. Well it's our very own Seddie McGovern. He has looked after (with the help of others) the crib and figures. But he has now retired from this position and I think a big thank you is in order for his many years of service to this cause. So from this little community with the big heart.. Thank you Seddie

IHCPT Church gate collection

Church Gate Collection next weekend the 28th  - 29th January in aid of the IHCPT (Irish Pilgrimage Trust). 'The Irish Pilgrimage Trust is a registered charity in Ireland. For the past 40 years, The Trust travels on pilgrimage and on holiday to Lourdes with young people with special needs, from all over Ireland. The Club are holding our annual dinner dance in the Landmark Hotel on Saturday February 18th. The victorious Intermediate and Minor championship teams will be presented with their championship medals on the night  and we have Music provided by the excellent Dopplezimmers. Ballinamore Drama Festival

The Drama festival this year will take place in the Community Centre from March 5th to March 12th. We have a good line up of plays and we hope that all attending will enjoy. Season tickets are available in Murphy's newsagents in St Bridget's St. Looking forward to a great week.

The Sliabh an Iarainn Players.

The  Mohill based Sliabh an Iarainn Players, under the direction of Frank Cadam, will once again take to the stage in 2017 with more top class drama.  We would like to invite anyone interested in being part of a sucessful drama group, or anyone interested in learning a craft, how to act, design sets, lighting, sound and everything else that goes into staging a successful production, to join us for the coming year. Drama helps build your confidence and gives you the chance to meet some great people.  Our aim is to provide top class drama, combined with  good comradrie for everyone involved.
