Memories of 1916 

The Ballinamore Library ‘Item of the Month’ for November is an oral history recording of Johnny Mulhern.  The interview with Johnny was carried out by Seán Ó Suilleabháin in 1981 at his home in Kiltyclogher.  Johnny speaks about knowing Seán Mac Diarmada, his recollections of the War of Independence, the Civil War and much more.  This audio recording will be played each Wednesday 16th, 23rd and 30th at 3pm in Ballinamore Library.  

Church of Ireland

Church Street, Ballinamore, Sunday Service is at 12.15pm every Sunday except on the 4th Sunday which is held in Drumreilly Church, Drumreilly.

Ballinamore Women’s group

Susan Mc Cann returns to the Ballroom of Romance:-

All roads will be leading to the Ballroom of Romance, Glenfarne on the 10th Dec '16,where Susan McCann makes a welcome return after more than 30 years to the famous dancehall. Susan will have The Storytellers as her backing band. Dancing takes place between 11pm and 1am.

The nights entertainment starts at 8pm with The Mock Wedding for One Night

Only of Vinny and Breege in the romantic surroundings of The Ballroom of Romance. The Mock Wedding had its first appearance in The Clarion Hotel, Sligo on the 30th Oct'16 and is coming to Glenfarne due to the demand for a 2nd night. The Mock Wedding and dance is a joint fundraising effort between the Rainbow Restoration fund and the Killenummery Church Restoration Fund.

15 covers you for both events with light refreshments served on the night, come early to avoid disappointment.

Sewing Workshop Ballinamore Library

A sewing workshop will be held in Ballinamore Library on Saturday 8th October. This course covers the basics of alterations and is a good starting point for acquiring sewing skills. For details contact:  Alena at 087 7503570

Christmas Lights

So a little early I hear you say.... But the work on Christmas Lights believe it or not goes on most of the year. As usual we are looking for all the help we can get our hands on, so if you are free please contact Dawn. We are hoping to begin this work on Sunday 13th of November... Church Notices

 Deaths : We pray for the soul of Dympna Clune, Sutton, Co. Dublin, who died recently (sister of Lily O Brien and Kathleen O Reilly). Our thoughts & prayers are with her family.  

 Parish Pastoral Council: The new Parish Pastoral Council will be commissioned at the 11am mass in Ballinamore on Sunday 20th November. It would be appreciated if all members were in the Church at 10:45am as we will have a short rehearsal.   

A Mass for The Bereaved will be celebrated on Friday 18th Nov at 8pm in Aughnasheelin.  

Sacrament of Confirmation :Parents of children who  are  preparing  to receive  the sacrament of confirmation next  May, and attend Scoil Chlann Naofa, Ballinamore,  St. Mary’s  N.S.Aughnasheelin   or Aughawillan N.S. are invited to attend an Information meeting on Tuesday November 15th  at 8pm in St.Patrick’s Boys School in Ballinamore.  

SAFETALK TRAINING in the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre on Wednesday 7 December 2016 from 9:30a.m. to 1:00p.m.  SAFETALK is a half day training programme that prepares participants to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources.
