The Annual Harvest Festival

The Annual Harvest Festival Service and Dedication of Gifts will take place on Sunday 9th October 2016 at 6pm in Ballinamore Parish Church.  The special preacher will be Bishop Ferran Glenfield.
The service will be followed afterwards by tea in the Scouts Den.  All welcome.

The topic will be on Stellar Evolution - The life of a star.

Speaker: Brian MacGabhann.
The following evening we will have a Sky Observation Night (chance to see Saturn and its famous rings), Friday Oct 7 at Sliabh an Iarainn Mountain for 9pm ish. Meetup at Tescos Ballinamore at 8:45pm. These events are Open to Everyone."

Women’s Group

A meeting of Ballinamore womens group takes place on Wedensday 5th October at 8 pm.  Arrangements will be completed for trip to Cork.  All members are asked to attend.

The Leitrim Branch will host a public information meeting in Bush Hotel, Carrick on Shannon, on Wednesday October 12th at 7.30 p.m. The theme of the meeting will be-   Top Tips on Living Well with Diabetes and the speakers will be  Pauline Dunne and Claire Naughton.  Members of the public are invited and refreshments will be provided.

Ballinamore community school parents association

A meeting of Ballinamore community school parents association will take place on Tuesday night 4th October at 8pm in the school. All parents welcome.

Commemorating the 485people who died during the 1916 Rising

There is a fabulous display in Ballinamore Library of a project by 6th class pupils of St. Aidan’s N.S., Bawnboy. It is a mural which consists of a map of Ireland dotted with 485 coins, to commemorate the 485 people who died during the 1916 Rising.


Ballinamore Athletic Club resumes training in the Sports Hall and St Felim's on Tuesday evening next (October 6th) and will continue Tuesday and  Thursday from 7 00 to 8 00 until the end of October. New members are welcome.

What was your Family Doing in 1916?

To mark the centenary of the 1916 Rising, family history experts from Findmypast and Eneclannare are touring Ireland to help you trace your ancestors. They are coming to Ballinamore Library on Tuesday 4th October  from 11.00am to 3.00pm. On the day you can expect free access to bilions of  family history records.  One-to-one  genealogy sessions with Eneclann’s experts and talks on finding your roots and the 1916 Rising. This is a  FREE event with all welcome.

QQI Level 5 Computer Applications Full Time Course

It’s not too late to improve your employment prospects with a nationally recognized award and gain 400 CAO points towards a third level college place. week North West Hospice are holding a Memorial Walk in Doorly Park. People are encouraged to come along and walk in the memory of their loved ones, friends , colleagues and family members .
