Fundraiser for Tommy McCormack Jnr

A Fundraiser for Tommy McCormack Jnr who qualified to compete in the World Powerlifting Championships in Italy takes place in The Poor Scholar on Saturday October 15, Admission is €5 and your support for this young man would be appreciated. ‘Moll’ to benefit two local children!

The Mohill based Sliabh an Iarainn  Players will present John B Keane’s great comedy play ‘Moll’ on Saturday October 15th 8.45pm and Sunday October 16th  8.30pm  in the Hunt Hall, Castle Street, Mohill (opposite Library).  The two children to benefit from this production are Baby Loughlin Og Burns and Rebecca Hollidge. Baby Loughlin Óg Burns has connections with this parish as his maternal grandparents Siobhan and Owen Carron reside in Corraleehan. The first round of matches in the Francis McGirl Memorial Cup Competition starts this Friday night the 14th of October.
Freddie’s have a home fixture against The Poor Scholar and Jackie’s are at home to McGirl’s.  bank Bar have a bye.  It’s important to note that all AGM a few weeks ago it was agreed to start the games at 10pm sharp.  Good luck to all for the new season.

Church Street, Ballinamore, Sunday Service is at 12.15pm every Sunday except on the 4th Sunday which is held in Drumreilly Church, Drumreilly.

Sewing Workshop Ballinamore Library.

A sewing workshop will be held in Ballinamore Library on Saturday 8th October. This course covers the basics of alterations and is a good starting point for acquiring sewing skills.

Health Day in Gorvagh Community Centre

Leitrim Development Company is  holding  a health information day and one to one health checks in Gorvagh Community Centre on Monday 17th October.from 9.30am  to 2pm The  Health Day will  include health checks,  speakers on nutrition, the Sports Partnership and  minding your mental health. Breifne Earley, Author of Pedal the Planet will speak at the  event. Lunch will be provided afterwards and a range of information on health and other issues. This event is free and open to everyone in the community and we would encourage you to come along early, if you would like to avail of the one to one health checks. Diabetes Public Information

A Public Information Meeting will be held in the Bush Hotel on Wednesday October 12th at 7.30 p.m. on the theme " Top Tips on Living Well with Diabetes". The speakers will be Pauline Dunne and Claire Naughton. Admission free, refreshments and all welcome.

Athletic Club 

Training has resumed at the Sports Hall and St Felims on Tuesday and Thursday at 7.00 p.m. until the mid term break and new members of all ages are welcome any evening.

Computers for beginners

If you have ever felt that you were out of date when it comes to computers, or ever been afraid to admit that you know nothing about them, then this course is made just for you! It will take place right here in Mohill next Wednesday evening 12th October from 7pm to 10pm, and will last for only 10 weeks. Ballinamore Sean O’Heslin’s GAA

Today is the day!! Lets all head for Páirc Sean Mac Diarmada  to cheer on the lads in the County Intermediate Final. This is our “All Ireland” as we hope to capture the Intermediate title for the first time. The game is at 2.00pm and we encourage every man woman and child to get there. Bring the flags and the colours and cheer them on. Béal an Átha Móir abú.  Good luck also to our neighbours, and fellow parishioners now, in the Senior Final.

Bridge takes place on Thursday 13th October in  the Commercial Hotel at seven thirty. All players welcome.

Movie night Ballinamore Library

On Tuesday night October 11th at 7pm. come along to the movie evening in Ballinamore library and see the movie “The Lady in the Van”.  Written by Alan Bennett starring Maggie Smith and Alex Jennings It tells the true story of Mary Shepherd, an elderly woman who lived in a dilapidated van on Bennett's driveway in London for 15 years.
