Ballinamore Angling and Tourism Ltd

Would like to welcome all the anglers who are participating in this year’s World Pairs.  This competition is held annually and this year’s it’s between 5th and 9th of September.  Some of the top anglers from all over the world take part.  We wish them all good luck and look forward to the results.

County Music Extravaganza in aid of Join Our Boys & Leitrim Association of People with Disabilities. Run by Peter & Josephine McLoughlin, Mohill

This extravaganza will be held on Monday 3rd October in the Landmark Hotel, Carrick on Shannon.  With a welter of great artists such as The JCB Man, Seamus Moore, Patrick Feeney, Kieran Rosney, Eamon Jackson, Shane Owens, Mich Flavin, Trevor Moyles, Kathy Durkin, Eunice Moran, Mary O’Connor, Olivia Douglas.  Admission 415, doors open at 8pm, show starts 9pm.  Tickets available by contacting Peter on 087 2973042.  Compere on the night Eugene Murphy T.D.  support band Busy Fingers

Training for the autumn/winter season will resume at Ballinamore Sports Hall on Tuesday October 4th at 7.00 p.m. and new members will be very
 welcome to join those already enrolled. Training will be on Tuesday and Thursday from 7.00 to 8.00 p.m. until the end of October and an hour  
earlier after the time change. The first competition will be the Leitrim Primary Schools Cross Country early in October with the Connacht event
at Sligo Racecourse on October 15th. The Connacht Inter Club Even Championships will be at a Galway venue two weeks later and the Uneven Ages
Championships at a Mayo venue the first Sunday of November. The Club has a good record of success in these events down the years.

Ballinamore Parent and Toddler Group: 

Returns 14th of September in Ballinamore Library, 10am-12noon.  Open to all parents, grandparents, childminders in the care of babies/toddlers.  €2 per week.  Call Laura on 086 6035977 for more information.  It is a great opportunity for parents to interact, enjoy tea/coffee while the babies play!

Fashion show

Ballinamore Women’s Group

Monthly meeting of Ballinamore women’s group takes place on Wednesday 7th September at eight o clock.

The balance of money one hundred ninety euro due for week end trip to Cork must be paid on or before this meeting.  All members are asked to attend.

Parish Council Elections 2016

The current parish pastoral council has come to the end of its term this month. Formation of new Parish Pastoral Council members will take place over coming 2 weeks. Membership of the Parish Council is open to any parishioner over the age of 18yrs. This year because of the changes to our Parish structure, you have the opportunity of nominating people from your own church area, who, in your opinion would be suitable representatives on the new Parish Pastoral Council. The church areas will be –  Aughawillan   Aughnasheelin    Ballinamore   Corraleehan . You - the parishioners decide on who will represent your church area on the Parish Council through the process of nominating up to 5 women and 5 men from your own church area. Sample of nominating forms can be viewed on the notice board at the church porch. Please take a moment to view these forms-  Forms will be distributed in all parish churches next weekend and will be collected at the Masses over the following weekend. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS IMPORTANT AND WORTHWHILE PROCCESS

The Ballinamore Hospice coffee morning

will this year be hosted by Helena Darcy at her house in Fohera Lane on Saturday 17th September at 12pm. Brid McGourty is standing aside after 12 years. This is a wonderful cause and the coffee morning is a great opportunity for everyone to support it. Everybody welcome to what should be a sociable and fun event.

The Den

There will be an enrolment meeting on Wednesday 7th September in the scout den Ballinamore at 7.30pm. This is to discuss the future of various sections as at the moment due to large numbers in each section and shortage of leaders we may not be able to accommodate your child. Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of North West Hospice

Will you join in with Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning and help raise funds for North West Hospice? National Culture night -Friday 16th September 2016

Correction for dates of ‘Moll’ Mohill Notes

The Sliabh and Iarainn Players under the direction of Frank Cadam will perform John B. Keane’s comedy play ‘Moll’ on Saturday 15th  October 8.45pm and Sunday 16th  October 8.30pm  in the Hunt Hall, Castle Street, Mohill (opposite library). Mohill native Tish Dunleavy takes the title role of ‘Moll’ with Luke Early playing the part of the Bishop.  Donations from both performances to the Loughlin Óg Burns Fund and the Rebecca Holidge Medical Fund.
