Ballinamore Whist Drive

The monthly Whist Drive will take place in the Ballinamore Community Centre on Thursday 1st September at 9pm, all card players are welcome to come along and enjoy a good social night out , tea and refreshments served at interval and some great prizes to be won,

Fitness Classes

Starting Monday the 5th of September try out our new and improved classes in Ballinamore Community Center at 8pm. Also Tuesday and Thursday at 11am in Ballinamore gaa gym. Ballinamore Childcare Afterschool 

Ballinamore Childcare's Afterschool service will re-open on the 30th of August. We are looking forward to welcoming all our children back after the long summer break. If any parents would like to set their days or enroll their children we ask that they do it as soon as possible to ensure a space. We offer a wide range of services to suit all parents including Breakfast Club,1hr care from 1.40 to 2.40 to save parents 2 trips to the school, drop in service, homework supervision and a light evening snack. We also offer substantial reductions in price for any parents who have a gp/medical card or are on certain Social Welfare Payments. Irish Dancing Classes

The Mc Cartin school of Irish Dancing will recommence classes in Drumreilly Community Centre on Tuesday 6th September at 5:30pm and Thursday 8th at 6pm. The 2016 Lough Rynn Harvest Festival & Vintage Day

Takes place Sunday next, 4th September. The organising committee have the all the feature acts booked and the final plans in place. This line-up this year contains all the old favourites and many new ones too, on the day. The festival never fails to delight with weird and wonderful surprises around every corner.  Once again the event will be manned by the people of Bornacoola who organise the traffic flow, parking and stewarding for the event. The food preparation and catering too are carried out by the parishioners as well as the running of many of the feature events. Hopefully the sun will shine and we will have another successful and rewarding day, and don’t forget the wonderful Tom Moran and Mick Flavin will entertain throughout the day and there will be a big screen for anyone who wants to watch the All Ireland hurling final -  looking forward to seeing everybody at the castle on Sunday morning!

Mohill Family Support Centre

Ballinamore Parent and Toddler Group:  returns 14th of September in Ballinamore Library, 10am-12noon.  Open to all parents, grandparents, childminders in the care of babies/toddlers.  €2 per week.  Call Laura on 086 6035977 for more information.  It is a great opportunity for parents to interact, enjoy tea/coffee while the babies play!

Scoil Chlann Naofa

Scoil Chlann Naofa will be opening Tues 30th at 9am. We look forward to welcoming back our present students & meeting our new students. Wishing them all the very best for the new school year.

 Deaf Education Conference

There will be Deaf Education Conference in Portlaoise Heritage Centre on 1st October 2016  - 9.30am to 5.30pm.

 The aim of the conference is:To improve the standard of Education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children both in access to language and literary in mainstream and Deaf schools in Ireland. How to get the best support and services children need in schools.  The conference is for parents of Deaf and Hard of Hearing children, Education Professionals, policy advisors, Irish Sign Language Teachers, Special Needs Assistance and anyone with an interest in education of Deaf children.  The Conference will include a panel of both Irish and international experts on Deaf educational who will talk about:

Best practice in the education of Deaf and Hard of Hearing children.

Parish Council Meeting.   Meeting of the Parish Pastoral Council will take place on Wednesday 31st August in the Community Centre Ballinamore at 8:30pm. All members are requested to attend,

Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of North West Hospice

Will you join in with Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning and help raise funds for North West Hospice? Mohill Computer Training – Upcoming Courses

Improve your ITskills at Mohill Computer Trainingthis Autumn. Our Part Time QQI Level 3 Introduction to Computers is starting on Monday5th Septemberfor 4 weeks.There are only a couple of places remaining.  Why not join our QQI Level 5 Full Time Computer Applications course which starts this October? Volunteer Tutors needed

Age Action runs beginner/refresher computer classes for people aged 55+ who have little or no computer experience or who are apprehensive of technology. Classes will be run in the Drumshanbo Enterprise Centre on Thursdays 10:30am – 12:30pm and each course will last for 4 weeks.  Participants are taught on a one to one basis. Fluent English, good computer skills (iPad/Tablet/Smartphone also very useful), patience, a positive outlook and an interest in working with older people are needed (a sense of humour is also helpful!).
