Whist Drive – In Aid Of North West Hospice.  Calling All Card Players !!

The monthly whist drive in Ballinamore Community centre takes place on Thursday 7th July at 9pm and all proceeds are going to the North West Hospice, we are calling on all card players to please come along and support this worthy cause. There will be a great selection of wonderful prizes, including Hampers,€100 fuel voucher, and much more,   and tea and refreshments at half time. So why not come along, bring a friend and enjoy a good night while supporting the North West Hospice. All Welcome

Celebrating Leitrim

Sunday July 31st promises to be a very special occasion with the “Celebrating Leitrim” function in the Bush Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon.

The evening will commence with a gala dinner at 8pm followed by presentation of the “Stór” award to Cathal Flynn and Packy McGarty in recognition of their service to Leitrim. The Percy French Singers will provide the entertainment.

A book –“Leitrim Stór” will be launched by guest of honour Fr. Peter Burke.

Church of Ireland

Church Street, Ballinamore, Sunday Service is at 12.15pm every Sunday except on the 4th Sunday which is held in Drumreilly Church, Drumreilly.

Traditional Music sessions

Starting in Shortt’s Heritage Bar this Sunday evening from 6 to 9 pm and every following Sunday.  All welcome.

Percy French Society

After their sell out show in the National Concert Hall, the Leitrim Percy French Society will perform in Breedagh Old School Carrigallen (where ‘Phil the Fluthers Ball’ was premiered) on Saturday July 2nd 8.30pm sharp! Percy French & Paddy Reilly will attend!

Summer Star Summer Reading Ballinamore Library.

The Summer Star Summer Reading initiative for children started in all libraries on Monday 20th June and will continue throughout the summer months finishing on September 3rd. There is still time to join, just call into the library for an entry form and further information.

Aughnasheelin Masses:     Wed 9am, Fri 8pm Mass , Sun. 10am.
Recent deaths:Please remember Catherine Kelly (sister of Paddy King Knockacullion) whose funeral took place in Monasterevin on Saturday. May she rest in peace . Our sympathy to Paddy and her family.
Visitation of the Sick: The sick will be visited this Thursday in Aughnasheelin & Friday in Ballinamore Confessions:   Sat. After 11am mass, before and after Sat 7pm mass, anytime on request. Eucharistic Adoration every Friday from after 9am mass to 1.30pm. All welcome.
Annual Visitation and Blessing of Graves : will take place in Oughteragh cemetery on Sunday 14th August withmass at 2.30pm in cemetery and in Aughnasheelin on Sunday 31st  July with mass at 10am. Blessing of Graves follows mass.
Golden Jubilee
Congratulations to Fr Charles Heerey former Parish Priest of Oughteragh, who celebrated the  Golden Jubilee of his ordination to the priesthood on  Sunday last the 19th of June. A mass and a function will be held in Belturbet to mark this great occasion in his life on Friday 1st July. The mass begins at 8pm, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception.          This will be a night of celebration also for Canon P.J Corrigan  former P.P of Belturbet who will celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of his Ordination to the priesthood.  Congratulations and God’s blessing to both of them.  
Change of mass times: At a meeting on Monday last with representativesfrom the four Church areas of  Ballinamore, Aughnasheelin , Aughawillan and Corraleehan along with Fr.Sean it was agreed that the following arrangement re times for Weekend masses would apply from the 3rd /4th  of September 2016 until the 25th/26th of March 2017.
Vigil Masses on Saturdays : Aughawillan Church at 7pm, Aughnasheelin Church 8pm.
Masses on Sundays: Corraleehan Church 9.45am,  Ballinamore Church:11am.   
Weddings , baptisms and funerals will be celebrated in the church of one’s choice

Dawns Art Camp - last chance to be part of Dawns Art Camp

8 years running and still going strong... Dawns Art Camp will start on Tuesday the 28 th June till Fri 1st July.. Junior camp   1st to 3 rd class. From 9:30 - 12 and Senior camp 4th 6 th at 1- 3:30.. This may change due to interest in senior camp.. Lots of making , sticking, building, colouring and fun things to do.. So get in there fast.. Mohill Computer Training – Upcoming Courses

Improve your IT and creative skills at Mohill Computer Training. Our Part Time QQI Level 3 Introduction to Computers is starting 5th September. We have  a new Part Time QQI Level 5 Design Skills and Digital Fabrication starting on 16th September for 10 weeks. Social fitness class

There is a social fitness class taking place on Thursday at 10am in Ballinamore gaa gym. This class is fantastic for those who want to start exercising as its so importance to stay fit and healthy for both physical and mental health  "If you don't use it..you lose it" All welcome especially those who are retired and are looking to stay fit, healthy and social. The Youth 2000 Summer Festival

is a Catholic event for 18 - 35 year olds which will be taking place from Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th July 2016 at the Cistercian College, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary. This is a brilliant weekend where you can learn about your Faith and meet new friends. There will be an information evening in Aughavas parochial house (beside the church) on Friday 24th June at 9pm about the festival.
