Heart Safe Notice.

A big thanks to everyone involved with the Happy Hearts collection on the 6th May last. We collected €986.61 for the Irish Heart foundation. We are very grateful to our volunteers who gave their time, to Supervalue and staff who facilitated the collection and to everyone who donated. Leitrim Astronomy Club

The next meeting of the new Leitrim Astronomy Club will be held on Thursday, June 9 in Ballinamore Library at 7pm. This will be a Beginner's Lecture/Presentation by Irish Federation of Astronomical Societies former chair Seanie Morris. He is also secretary of the Midlands Astronomy Club out of Tullamore, Co. Offaly. It was hoped to have Seanie there in person but this time unfortunately he could not make it. However, he will give his presentation online via the library's big screen. Everyone welcome to come along.

Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock.

The Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock led by Bishop Leo will take place on Sunday June 19th  . The Parish Pastoral Area are going to run a bus for all  those who wish to attend from the 4 parishes. The subsidised cost will be €5 per person, so if you would like to be part of the Pilgrimage and take this opportunity to visit Knock , our National Marian Shrine, please keep this date in mind, Bus will leave Ballinamore at 10am on the Sunday morning,  Programme for the day is – Arrival 12pm.

Copies of the latest edition of Glad Tidings – the newsletter from the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre – are now available free of charge in the church porches.

 Relics of St Oliver Plunkett will visit the chapel of the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre in Cavan on Tuesday 7 June next.  The relics will arrive at the centre at 10:00a.m. and will be available for veneration until 10:00p.m. There will be a lunchtime Mass in the chapel at 1:15p.m. for those doing examinations.  There will also be Mass celebrated at 5:45p.m. and 8:00p.m.  Confessions from 12 noon to 1:00p.m.; 4:30p.m. to  5:30p.m.; and 6:30p.m. to 7:45p.m.   For further information, please ring the Centre on 049 4375004.

SafeTalk Training in the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Cullies, Cavan, on Wednesday 22 June next from 9:30a.m. to 1:00p.m.  This training prepares participants to identify people with thoughts of suicide and to connect them to suicide first-aid resources.  There is no cost.  For further information, please contact Emer Mulligan, Resource Officer for Suicide Prevention, HSE Cavan-Monaghan Mental Health Services, by email:emer.mulligan@hse.ie or by telephoning 086 1717563.  Closing date for receipt of applications in Wednesday 1 June 2016.

Diocesan Year of Mercy Afternoon of Prayer will take place on Sunday 12 June 2016 in St. Patrick's Church, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim beginning at 3:00p.m. and concluding with Mass celebrated by Bishop Leo O'Reilly at 5:15p.m.  The Afternoon will be conducted by Fr. Eamonn Devlin CM, Spiritual Director of the National Board of Trustees of the St. Vincent de Paul and is aimed at those who serve the Church in a pastoral, administrative or charitable role or who are involved in any way with various church organisations.  All welcome.

Ballinamore Womens group

A meeting of Ballinamore Women’s group takes place on Wednesday 1st June at 8 pm. It is the last meeting before the summer break and all members are invited to attend the party.

Mulvey’s Kidz Kingdom and Bowling Carrick –on-Shannon SUMMER CAMPS 2016. Activities Include: Arts and Crafts, Bowling, Cooking, Sumo Wrestling, Sports Activities, Musical Games, Soccer, Ball Games, and Amazing Play zone, Board games, Card Games, Hip Hop and Ending with a Funday.  All ages Welcome. Family Carers Ireland are providing the QQI Level 5

Activities of Living Patient Care module in Ballinamore on the 02/06/2016 .  This is one of the elective modules off the full QQI Healthcare Award and is run one day a week for five weeks from 9.30am to 4.30pm. This Training is delivered by one of our qualified tutors with a nursing background.  For more info or to express an interest kindly contact our training department on 05793 70221.

Percy for Dublin

The County Leitrim Percy French Society is returning to perform in the National Concert Hall Dublin on Wed 15th June 2016 at 8pm. A bus will leave Ballinamore, Mohill etc. to Dublin so if anyone is interested in travelling, please contact Mary on 0892343967.Return trip on the bus only €10.
