Copies of the latest edition of Glad Tidings– the newsletter from the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre – are now available free of charge in the church porches.

An Evening of Prayer and Formation for Ministers of Holy Communion will take place on Wednesday 25 May 2016 in the  Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Cullies, Cavan, from  7:30p.m. to 9:30p.m. which will be conducted by Fr. Michael Mc Grath, CC Longford.  All Ministers of Holy Communion are welcome to attend.

Relics of St Oliver Plunkett will visit the chapel of the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre in Cavan on Tuesday 7 June next.  The relics will arrive at the centre at 10:00a.m. and will be available for veneration until 10:00p.m. There will be a lunchtime Mass in the chapel at 1:15p.m. for those doing examinations.  There will also be Mass celebrated at 5:45p.m. and 8:00p.m.  Confessions from 12 noon to 1:00p.m.; 4:30p.m. to  5:30p.m.; and 6:30p.m. to 7:45p.m.   For further information, please ring the Centre on 049 4375004.

SafeTalk Training in the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Cullies, Cavan, on Wednesday 22 June next from 9:30a.m. to 1:00p.m.  This training prepares participants to identify people with thoughts of suicide and to connect them to suicide first-aid resources.  There is no cost.  For further information, please contact Emer Mulligan, Resource Officer for Suicide Prevention, HSE Cavan-Monaghan Mental Health Services, by email: emer.mulligan@hse.ie or by telephoning 086 1717563.  Closing date for receipt of applications in Wednesday 1 June 2016.

Situated in Ballinamore Library (our new venue!) Ballinamore Womens group

A meeting of Ballinamore Women’s group takes place on Wednesday 1st June at 8 pm. It is the last meeting before the summer break and all members are invited to attend the party.

Mulvey’s Kidz Kingdom and Bowling Carrick –on-Shannon SUMMER CAMPS 2016

Activities Include: Arts and Crafts, Bowling, Cooking, Sumo Wrestling, Sports Activities, Musical Games, Soccer, Ball Games, and Amazing Play zone, Board games, Card Games, Hip Hop and Ending with a Funday.  All ages Welcome. MUST be Toilet Trained and Bring Packed Lunch. Dates: 27th June - 1st July, 4th July - 8th July, 11th July - 15th July, 18th July - 22nd July, 25th July - 29th July, 8th August - 12th August. Mens Shed

The local Men’s Shed Group are looking for volunteers.  Please support the local men’s shed co-operative in the Ballinamore Education Centre located in the Vocational school.  We meet every Wednesday evening from 7 to 10 pm in the woodwork room.  Apart from all the flower boxes, wishing wells, railway boxes, bird boxes, seating and other projects that we do, we always have time for tea, scones, cupla focal and a chat.  Nil neart go chuir le cheile.  We are always in need of wood, so if you have some that is too good to throw away, please let us know and we will collect it. Family Carers Ireland are providing the QQI Level 5

Activities of Living Patient Care module in Ballinamore on the 02/06/2016 .  This is one of the elective modules off the full QQI Healthcare Award and is run one day a week for five weeks from 9.30am to 4.30pm. This Training is delivered by one of our qualified tutors with a nursing background.  For more info or to express an interest kindly contact our training department on 05793 70221.

Percy for Dublin

The County Leitrim Percy French Society is returning to perform in the National Concert Hall Dublin on Wed 15th June 2016 at 8pm. A bus will leave Ballinamore, Mohill etc. to Dublin so if anyone is interested in travelling, please contact Mary on 0892343967.Return trip on the bus only €10.
