Ballinamore Fishing and Tourism Ltd AGM

Are holding their AGM on Monday 14th March 2016 at 8.30pm in The Old Clinic.  All members are invited to attend.  New members would be very welcome.

Book Launch and Reading Ballinamore Library

On Saturday 12th March at 3pm Kevin Mc Manus (Carrigallen native) will launch his novel “The Whole of the Moon” in Ballinamore library.  Kevin will also do a book signing and reading on the day with free admission and all welcome.

Church of Ireland

Church Street, Ballinamore, Sunday Service is at 12.15pm every Sunday except on the 4th Sunday which is held in Drumreilly Church, Drumreilly.

Bridge takes place on Thursday 10t March in the Commericial hotel at 7 30 pm.  All players welcome.

Free Computer Course

Free Computer Course Starting in Ballinamore,  available to anyone who is working full or part time and self employed including farmers. The course will cover the Internet, Email,  Microsoft Word and Spreadsheets . The course will run 3 hours a week for a period of 12 weeks. Please contact Niamh on 086 0779362 for more details.

Sweet Spirit for Cavan Oncology

The Cavan Oncology Unit, Cavan General Hospital is to be the beneficiary of a concert by the Sweet Spirit Gospel Choir under the direction of Tish Dunleavy. The event will take place in the Cornmill Theatre, Carrigallen on Sunday evening 10th April at 8.30pm sharp! Special guests on the night will be the Leitrim Male Choir. Come along and support this very worthy cause.

St Patrick’s Day Parade

I hope everyone has their colours ready for the big parade.. The theme is "Irish is???" All are welcome to join in and if there is anyone out there who would like to help out we would appreciate it.. There are goodies for the kids, local entertainment and prizes galore.. Best dressed, most original, typical and best dressed window.. And much more. The scouts will be there with their usual goodies stall and of course St Patrick. The meeting point is at Tesco @ 3:30 for parade at 4. If you have any enquiries contact Dawn @ 086-3115647

Athletic Club News

A number of members represented their schools in the Leitrim Primary Schools Sports Hall Championships organised by Leitrim Sports Partnership which concluded with the Finals in Ballinamore Sports Hall last Friday.  The All Ireland Finals are in Athlone this Wednesday (9th) but none of the club members are involved. Well done to Sibeal Reynolds who finished sixth in the Senior Long Jump at the Glo Health AAI Indoor Championships in Athlone on Saturday week last and to Ellie        O Rourke who, representing Ballinamore Community School, finished twenty third in the All Ireland Schools Minor Girls Cross Country Championship at Sligo Racecourse last Saturday after taking runner up position in the Connacht Championship a few weeks back. Indoor training continues at 6.00 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday until the Easter break following next Tuesday's session.  Outdoor training for the summer track & field events will commence at the Sports Hall and St Felim's Grounds on Tuesday April 5th at 7.00m p.m. with new members welcome.

Fenagh St. Patrick's Day Parade

Starts at 2pm on Thursday 17th March.  This is our 6th Parade and all are welcome.  Anyone wishing to participate (it's free) will meet at Tully Lane from 1:30pm - follow the Stewards' advice.  For a fun, family day out, come on down to Fenagh and let us entertain you!!

Every Wednesday 10.00a.m.-12.000p.m.  €2 per week (for tea, coffee, biscuits etc.)

Stations of the Cross:  One of the great traditions of Lent is “Doing the Stations of the Cross” daily or having Sunday evening  Lent devotions. This Lent it is planned to have the Stations of the Cross    each Sunday at 7pm in Ballinamore Church.        Our hope is that a different organization will lead the stations each Sunday. If your organisation is willing to become involved please contact any member of the Parish Pastoral Council.

The Apostolic Society

is holding a church gate collection on 12/13 March for the foreign missions. We would greatly appreciate new members or collectors to assist us - our membership in Ballinamore is very small and we may not be able to continue otherwise. Thank you for your generous contributions in previous years all of which goes directly to local priests and nuns on the missions. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Kilmore Diocesan Pilgrimage To Lourdes Fundraiser

Launch of the Lavey to Lourdes cycles takes place on Friday 11th March in the Lavey Inn.  Music by Paul Corrigan and guests  9.30pm to 1am Refreshment will be served on the night plus a draw for a number of spot prizes.  Admission €10.  Your support would be appreciated

Ballinamore Drama Festival

Ballinamore Drama Festival opens this Sunday 6th March in Ballinamore Community Centre at 8.30pm with the Backstage Theatre Group performing ‘Blithe Spirit’ a wonderful comedy play.

Please note this play has strobe lighting.  

Drama continues until Sunday 13th March  starting on closing night at 8pm.
