Ballinamore Credit Union AGM is on Tuesday 9th February at 8pm in Sean O’Heslin’s GAA Clubrooms.

Aughawillan Drama Troupe

Church Gate Collection for the North West Hospice

The collection will be held this coming weekend Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th in all churches.  Your generosity would be much appreciated.

The first semi-final will be played next Friday night the 5th of February between McGirl’s who finished first and the Commercial who finished fourth.  Venue The Abbey Bar Fenagh.
The second semi-final is between the Bank Bar who finished third and Jackie’s who finished in second place, that game takes place on Friday the 12th of February.  Venue is The Commercial Hotel.

While the seats are in Ballinamore community centre for the musical and drama festival our Monday at 8pm Assorted Fitness class will be in the Scouts Den Feb 15th, 22nd & 29th, March 7th and in the sports complex Thursday at 8pm Feb 18th, 25th, March 3rd & 10th. 
(Easy way to remember..We have our fitness class up beside the playground after Valentine's day to just before St Patricks day). 
Also in the sports complex the first Thursday of ever month at 8pm.

Table Quiz on behalf of Ballinamore Childcare

Ballinamore Childcare ltd are holding a fundraising table quiz to raise money for our three services (An Naíonra, Lollipop kids & Afterschool) on Friday the 5th of February in Jackie’s Lakeland Bar, Ballinamore at 9pm.  Tables are €20 for a team of 4. Raffle will also be held on the night. We look forward to seeing you there.

A meeting of Ballinamore women’s group takes place in Trathnona  on Wedensday 3rd February at 8pm.

Plans for the coming year will be made this meeting.

Pancake Night in Templeport

A Pancake night will be held in Templeport Resource Centre on Tuesday 9th February.  Music by Country Sensations.  Pancakes will be served from 8.30 to 9.30pm.  Band will play from 9.30pm till midnight. Proceeds in aid of Day Centre.   Please support.

St. Vincent De Paul

St. Brigid’s Conference Ballinamore would like to thank each and everyone who contributed so generously to our annual Christmas Church gate collection. We thank the people of Corraleehan, Aughawillan, Drumreilly, Aughnasheelin, Fenagh and  Ballinamore and all who helped out in whatever way. The total monies collected was 6520Euro .
We thank the Principal and staff of Ballinamore Community School  particularly Philomena Earley and the students who raised 236Euro. We are grateful to the teachers and students for their generous initiative Thank You.
We thank the Staff of Supervalue and Tesco Ballinamore who collected and supplied SVDP with clothes, food, and toys. We also thank Supervalus for allowing us to have a collection outside your store and again thanks to the public who contributed 1060Euro. We wish Supervalue and Tesco continued success in 2016.
A special thank you to the Lions Club Ck ON Shannon who organised  the “Lions Club Food Appeal” in Tesco. We thank the public who generously donated food to the value of 1200Euro.. The food donated was given to Saint Vincent de Paul for distribution in the Ballinamore and surrounding area.
Finally to the people who wish to remain anonymous who gave donations, money hampers, clothes  books and household items for distribution we say thank you for your generosity and kindness.
People’s generosity this year was fantastic and it helped to make Christmas very special for almost 100 homes in our local community. We thank all of you who supported us in any way throughout the year.

Safetalk training

in the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre on Wednesday 10 February 2016 from 9:30a.m. to 1:00p.m.  SAFETALK is a half day training programme that prepares participants to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources. These specific skills are called suicide alertness and are taught with the expectation that the person learning them will use them to help reduce suicide risk in their communities. Participants learn how to provide practical help to persons with thoughts of suicide in only a few hours. Ballinamore Musical Society - Date for your diary !

Erin go Bragh - The latest production by Ballinamore Musical Society is well under way and will be staged in the community centre from February 19th .  Erin go Bragh is an original musical and dramatical tribute to the heroes of 1916 depicting the events in the lead up to and during the fateful Easter week that changed the course of history in Ireland. This show has something for everyone - song, dance, music, comedy and drama.

‘Quiet Days for Busy People’

Knock Shrine is holding a one-day retreat, called ‘Quiet Days for Busy People’, on February 6th. The day focuses on prayer with Scripture, reflection and spiritual renewal. Athletic Club

Next Sunday, February 7th, after a lapse of a number of years the club hosts the Leitrim AAI Indoor Athletics Championships in the Sports Hall with entries from 1.30.p.m. There are events, including relays, for Under 9,10,11,12 and 14. New members can enroll at training on Tuesdays and Thursday at 6.00 p.m. Primary Schools Sportshall Athletics commence in Ballinamore on Thursday February 25th.
