SWEET SPIRIT GOSPEL & COUNTRY CHOIR

Like to Join?
The Mohill based ‘Sweet Spirit Gospel & Country Choir’ will be rehearsing for a special fundraising concert to take place in early April.  New members welcome to be part of this fundraising concert. If you have a very positive outlook, enjoy singing and being part of a fun group in a very informal setting, prepared to commit to an hour and a half every Wednesday from end of January to early April, please contact 086-0827430. Rehearsals from 7.30pm to 9pm sharp.

PROGRESSIVE 25 CARD GAME

Progressive 25 Winter/Spring League commences this Thursday January 7th, in Fenagh Community Centre at 8.30. League prizes (Sponsored by Connefry's Abbey Bar), Nightly prizes and Jackpots. Entry €8 with refreshments served. All new players welcome. Proceeds in aid of Fenagh Handball Club.

A CLOSER LOOK - ART EXHIBITION

As part of the Children’s Art Exhibition in Solas Art Gallery, first and second year Art Students from Ballinamore Community School are exhibiting their talents with the theme "A Closer Look" These students have chosen an image from nature. Whilst learning painting techniques and exploring with colour and texture with acrylic paints, each child has brought their own individual talents onto canvas. The exhibition opens on sat 16th Jan. BALLINAMORE CHRISTMAS

Well it’s all over for another year and A Happy New Year to everyone.... and as good as the lights look unfortunately they have to come down...We are hoping to take down the Christmas lights this weekend Sunday 10th Jan at 1;30 at the church, if you are interested in getting involved please contact Dawn 086-3115647. If you still wish to contribute to the fundraising you can do so in the Credit Union and leave your name or contact Dawn or David. Thank you all who have done so already it is a credit to a small community and surrounding areas..

OPERATION TRANSFORMATION WALK 2016

As was the case last year Ballinamore Athletic Club is joining with Leitrim Sports Partnership in the organisation of the Ballinamore Walk as part of the National Operation Transformation Network on Saturday next. Registration is at the Sports Hall at 10.00 and a 5K Walk will take place.  All interested are invited to take part as last year and, weather permitting, the morning's activities should be enjoyed by all.

THIRD AGE - SENIOR HELP LINE

‘Do you need someone to talk to?  Senior Help Line is a confidential listening service for older people provided by trained older volunteers for the price of a local call anywhere in Ireland, LoCall 1850 440 444.

Senior Help Line is open every day of the year, including Christmas Day, from 10 am to 10 pm.

Older people call because they feel lonely and want some company in their day. Callers have financial, family and health concerns.  A small number are experiencing elder abuse. Some feel depressed and need support to carry on.

Senior Help Line‘s trained older volunteers offer a friendly, listening and non-judgmental ear to all callers.   So don't be alone with your problem.   Lifting the phone lessens the loneliness. We are there. LoCall 1850 440 444’.

LEITRIM FARMERS

through their farming practices deliver environmental goods as well as agricultural. Farmers in the townland of Letterfine are now invited to take part in an EU funded project which pays farmers to deliver this good quality environment.  Farmers are not required to carry out any specific actions or management, farming is left to the farmer and payment is awarded on the quality of the environment (max rate EUR350/ha).
