BALLINAMORE AGRICULTURAL SHOW SOCIETY
A meeting of Ballinamore Agricultural Show Society will be held in the Community Centre on Wednesday 4th of November 2015.  The main item on the agenda will be a review of the 2015 show.  All members are requested to attend.

BALLINAMORE WHIST DRIVE – THURSDAY 5THN 8.30PM
The usual monthly Whist Drive will be held in the Community Centre this coming Thursday 5th November at 8.30pm.  looking forward to  seeing all the whist players and new players are very welcome.

A full itinerary of events has been planned for the centenary of the 1916 Rising next year in Ballinamore - For information of what's in store and to get involved in what will set 2016 as a year apart locally and nationally, come along to Smyths Siopa Ól this Friday night 6th.

Recent deaths: Please remember and pray for Michael Moran, Aughnasheelin, whose funeral took place on Thursday in St. Mary’s Church followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery also Chris Gormley  sister to the late Joe Gormley, High St., who died on Tuesday last, funeral to follow in Birmingham. May they rest in peace. Our sympathy to their families.
Sunday November 1st (Feast of All Saints) is a holy day of obligation.  Usual Sunday Mass Times will apply

Confessions Available this Saturday before and after 7pm Vigil Mass. Also before & after the 7pm Mass on Monday All Souls Day. Confessions are also available anytime on request.

Mass for the bereaved of the parish will be celebrated in St. Marys Church Aughnasheelin Fri Nov 20th at 8pm . All are invited, especially those who have lost loved ones in the past year.
Month of the Holy Souls: In November we remember and pray for the faithful departed in a special way. In our churches a number of masses will be offered for the deceased members of our families. It would be appreciated if you would bring in the list of those you wish to be prayed for next week end.  Envelopes with lists inserted are available in the Church Porch. Please take one and fill in the names of your deceased and return envelopes with offering to the church  at your earliest convenience.   For record purposes it would be appreciated if you would  include  your regular envelope number on these special envelopes.  These envelopes may be added to the weekly Offertory Baskets or left in special box close to altar before each mass.  

BALLINAMORE  MUSICAL SOCIETY     
Rehearsals are continuing in Reynolds Lounge Upstairs every Wednesday night at 9 p.m. New members would be very welcome. Please come along and bring a friend

NOVEMBER SERIES OF TALKS ON BEREAVEMENT AND LOSS
Former TD and Government Minister, Mary O'Rourke, will give a talk on her personal experience of bereavement and loss in the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Cullies, Cavan, on Tuesday 10  November 2015 at 7:45p.m.  Admission: €5.  All welcome.  Refreshments served afterwards.

FILM HOUR: BALLINAMORE LIBRARY
The weekly film hour returns to Ballinamore library on Tuesdays at 7pm. For details of film showing contact the library at 071 9645566.  Remember Admission is free and bring your own popcorn!
Kiddies Move each Saturday at 2.30pm Once again free admission. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

BALLINAMORE KARATE CLUB
Our Leitrim Shorin-Ryu Karate Club is back training after our Summer break. We are now enrolling new students from age six up. Why not give it a try, your first class is free!  Classes take place in Ballinamore Community Centre every Friday evening with the junior class at 6.30pm - 7.30pm and the senior class at 7.30pm to 8.30pm. THE CHILDREN’S REMEMBRANCE EVENT
Sunday 8th November 2015 at 3pm,The Kilmore Diocesan, Pastoral Centre, Cavan town.  Anyone who has experienced the loss of a baby or child, from miscarriage or  through the childhood years, regardless of where or when the loss occurred are invited to attend this special evening of support and remembering.  All are welcome.

DECEASED MEMBERS OF LEITRIM COUNTY COUNCIL
A Mass will be held in St. Mary’s Church, Carrick-on-Shannon on Monday 9th November 2015 at 8pm in memory of all deceased members of Leitrim County Council.

HSE BALLINAMORE NURSING UNIT
We are organising an informal open day for the HSE Ballinamore Nursing Unit and primary care centre on Saturday 7th November 2-5pm. We invite all to come and walk around the new centre.

DRUMSHANBO ENTERPRISE TOWN
Drumshanbo will host an Enterprise Town event on Friday the 20th of November and Saturday the 21st of November. The event will be an opportunity to promote local businesses and sports /community groups.  Any business or sports/community group from Drumshanbo and the surrounding areas that would like more information or to book a free stand at the event should contact Angela on 087 1131107 or Angela.Dowd@boi.com before Friday the 7th of November.

MEDUGORJE  2016 – FR VINCENT CONNAUGHTON P.P.

COLIN DOES WELL IN DUBLIN MARATHON
Ballinamore Athletic Club retired International racewalker made a very satisfactory marathon running debut in wet and windy conditions in the Dublin City Marathon on Bank Holiday Monday when he finished twenty third overall and sixth Irish competitor in a time of two hours, thirty three minutes and sixteen seconds. At home the winter programme of training resumed in the Sports Hall after the mid-term break on Tuesday and Thursday of this week between 6.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. Participants receive good quality fitness training and are also prepared for the Indoor Athletics events and for Primary and Post Primary Sports Hall Athletics both of which will, as usual, take place in the New Year. Outdoor running training will also be organised for those who wish to take part. New members are always welcome.

LOOKING FOR ELVES

A bit early I know, but thankfully the work has being going on all year round towards this year’s Christmas Lights display. As November kicks in we will be getting closer and closer to the turning on of the Christmas Lights on Sunday December 6th. We are looking for help again this year as this occasion would not happen without our dedicated volunteers. So if you fancy wakening your Christmas spirit let Dawn know on 086-3115647. The real work begins on the 15th November.

DRUMEELA GARDEN CLUB
Next meeting of Drumeela Garden Club is on Wednesday 11th November 2015 in Teach Duchais, Drumeela at 8:30pm (note that due to the time change, monthly Garden Club meetings will take place at the earlier time of 8:30pm for the winter months).  Guest speaker this month is Gail Quinn from the Four Seasons Garden Centre in Ballinamore.  Gail is a very knowledgeable and popular speaker at Drumeela Garden Club and has previously given very informative talks on a wide range of topics, this month she will talk on ‘Selecting and Caring for Houseplants’, and she will have a question and answer session after her talk, where she will advise on any houseplant or garden problems.  Gail will also have a selection of plants and other stock for sale, and will be offering a discount to attendees on the night.  All are welcome to attend, club membership is available for €15 for the year which includes entrance to all monthly meetings, or visitors can attend for €3 per night.  Tea and refreshments are included, a raffle will take place on the night and everybody is welcome, especially new members.

IRISH DANCING SUCCESS

The Mc Cartin SD recently competed with great success at Ballina Open Feis,Mayo in the Twin Trees Hotel. collecting 56 awards were the following dancers;
