Lost Dog

Much loved family pet called Callie went missing last weekend, she is jet black with curly hair, very friendly and lively, and she is small to medium.  Last seen in the Drumrane area.  Please if you find or see her phone Lynda at 086 8386123. There is a reward for the finding Callie.

Ballinamore Area Senior Citizens Committee
The A.G.M. of the above committee takes place next Monday night May 19th in Trathnona Community Centre at 9pm.  All members please attend and new members would be very welcome.

Church Collectors Needed
We are seeking two volunteers to join the Collectors Rota for the weekly Church collections. Each group is rostered for a 2 week period in the year.  All interested parties please contact Fr. Sean or Fr. Johnnie.

Wedding Bells
Congratulation to Caroline Mc Garry, Mohill and Sean Mc Cartin, Ballinamore who were united in the sacrament of Marriage in St Mary’s Church , Aughnasheelin on Sunday last.

Athletic Club
A busy week ahead for some members.  On Thursday the Connacht Schools Finals in Athlone IT involves members while on Friday evening the County Championships take place in Manorhamilton. Training as usual on Thursday evening at 7.00 p.m.

Bealtaine Celebrations (Traditional Farming) in Ballinamore Library

As part of the Bealtaine Celebrations Ballinamore Library is showing a series of old Crafts and Customs videos. In the coming weeks we have. “Pilgrimage or Patten to a Holy Well” on Tuesday 20th May and “The Tinsmith” on Tuesday 27th May.  All of these have been filmed in Leitrim.  Remember admission is free with all welcome.

 Used Clothing Collection

S.N. Bhrid Naofa Parent’s Association, Ballinamore are having a clothes recycling drive to help raise funds for the parents association. You can donate all your new and used mens/womens and childrens clean clothing, shoes, belts, handbags, lines (no duvets or pillows please), stuffed toys etc We also accept mobile phone placed in a separate bag.
Please drop off your unwanted clothing on Wednesday 14th May between 7-8pm or Thursday morning the 15th between 9-930am at the girls senior school. Thanking you for your support.

Leitrim County Library provides a newspaper on line service. This service gives you access to 2200 newspapers and magazines from around the world. It is the most convenient and complete way to read all your favourite newspapers and magazines on one site. Users gain access to publications from within the library, from home and around the world on the day they are published. It is very easy to use with a simple interface and easy to use navigation tools. Readers can translate their newspaper into one of ten major foreign languages. There is page and article sharing, RSS and Blogging features you will not get with the traditional newspaper. It provides a global perspective on world events by delivering a wide range of publications to readers while at the library, at home and away. It is free if you are a member of the library. You can access it at the library website www.leitrimlibrary.ie and click the Newspapers Online  link on the left hand side. 

Free Digital Library

Its all digital things these days! The library is no different! You may not be aware that Leitrim County Library offers a free digital library to its members. Membership of the library is free too! All you need is an eBook reader or a laptop or a computer or a smart phone. Unfortunately this service will not work with the popular Kindle yet but the library service expects it will in the future and say negotiations are ongoing with Kindle.  You can access the eBook service which has both eBooks and audio books at the library website at www.leitrimlibrary.ie  and click digital library on the left hand side of the page. If you click the Getting Started link there are useful instructions here on how to download your books etc.  This is a great service if you can not get to the library or are on holidays and like a good read by the pool. The library will be adding more titles as the year progresses.
