Flying High Over The Rainbow
What an excellent parade. Well folks R.T.E. came and went and as promised they gave us our spot on the T.V. It looked fabulous and you all looked great.
There was a hugh effort put into this years parade and that was down to the work by all, from, Parade entries to spectators, stewarts to judges, Musicians/sound to dancers, snakes to little helpers, firemen to Gardai and of course the smallest and tallest St. Patricks in the land. Well done Owen Hamill and Shane Creamer. Thank you also to our sponsors for their generous contributions - all the publicans in the town, Tesco, Super Valu and Cumiskys. A special thank you to Edel and Sandie McKeon for their help with costumes.
An estimated 600+ people descended on our great town and when asked by John McMorrow R.T.E... "How would you describe the town? The reply was - A small town with a big heart" and we certainly proved that. .Thank you all from the town and surrounding areas for contributing to a great success. We are planning that next years parade with all of your help will be as good if not better. Congratulations to all our prize winners see next weeks notes for more information or contact Dawn 086- 3115647 or David McCabe (Poor Scholar)
