New Hall Almost Completed
The new Community Hall adjacent the Sports Hall which will also double as a Scout Den is now virtually completed and will be in full use shortly. Ballinamore Scouts will be able to use it as a Den when they need it and will have dedicated storage space for their equipment. Sports Hall users can use it for meetings and tournaments as well as educational programmes as it will provide comfortable facilities for educational and training courses particularly related to health and recreation. The main hall is 45'x 24' approximately and it has additional toilets and showers which can be used also by sports hall users. There is also a Community Council office. The hall will not be an alternative to Ballinamore Community Centre and will not be available for functions and activities appropriate to the Community Centre except in times of need.

Community Council Elections Coming Up
Ballinamore Area Community Council Ltd will hold their first elections under the newly revised Articles of Association in late May. The new Council will have a maximum of seventeen members, two elected from each of Aughnasheelin, Aughawillan, Ballinamore, Corraleehan, Drumreilly and Fenagh, three elected by the combined electorate of the six parishes and a maximum of two co-opted by those elected. The electorate will be similar to that which applies for the Leitrim Development Company area elections held every third year and the election format will also be the same. Only Organisations which are registered with Leitrim Community Forum at that time (leitrimcommunity@gmail.com) will have a vote and the entire election process will take place in the new hall on the same evening. At least a month's notice will be given of time, date and nomination process. Organisations should now ensure that they are registered as Development Company elections may also be due soon.

Darts
There is one round of matches to be played in the Francis McGirl Memorial Cup before the semi-finals.
