Viatores Christi

A catholic lay missionary organisation, which provides a 6 month preparatory course, one weekend each month for people who would like to volunteer overseas for 1-2 years mostly in places like Africa, Latin America and Asia.  We are currently looking for teachers, construction workers, medical personnel and anyone who feels they have the skills to share to empower poor local communities in these regions.There will be an information seminar on this type of work and how you can get involved, given by past volunteer Ronan Sharpley, in the Cavan Pastoral Centre (St Pat’s) on Wednesday the 4th at 7.30 pm. There will be a few short videos, talks from a past volunteers and the opportunity to be able to sign up for the training programme. All are very welcome

Dramantics Speech and Drama Classes

Solas Art Gallery Ballinamore 

Next opening next Friday night September 6th at 7.30pm. It's a solo exhibition by Roscommon artist Carol Wood. The exhibition opens at 7.30pm and as usual light refreshments will be served. Hope you can make it along to see the work of this very talented and very original artist. If you can't make it along to tonight be sure to drop in before the exhibition ends on Sept 28th. Irish Dancing Classes

Abbey Rovers Soccer Club

Our AGM will take place in the Community Centre Ballinamore on Tuesday evening 10th September at 8.30pm.  Parents needed to help with training during this coming year. 

Assorted Fitness

New 6 week programmes starts the week commencing the 2nd of September  - Fitness classes in Ballinamore are taking place in Ballinamore Hall every Monday and Thursday at 8pm.  In Ballinamore GAA gym every Wednesday at 6.30pm (aerobics and circuits) and at 7.30pm (Bums and Tums).  However, on Thursday the 5th of September our 8pm class is in the sports complex as Whist is in the hall the first Thursday of the month. Energise Your Life this September

This is a programme which is offered to all adults over 55 years. It is a great way to get fit, lose weight, and strengthen joints and muscles, while also meeting new people.  This programme is starting Thursday the 5th of September at 10am in Ballinamore GAA Gym.  With a beginners class for all ages starting at 11am.  Contact Michelle on 0879390980 for further information.

Carrick Rugby Club

Sheemore Walk South Leitrim

Macra are holding a walk up Sheemore on Sunday the 8th of September at 12:30pm,starting at lynch’s pub in Kilclare. Everyone is invited to attend especially any potential new members 17-35. Refreshments will be served after in Lynch’s pub

Church 50th year Celebration

Anniversary Fund Raising Concert In St. Brigid’s Church Killeshandra

On Monday 16th September @ 8.00pm.  As part of the celebrations commemorating the dedication of our parish church - St Brigid’s  - a special fund raising concert has been organised to help defray the cost of the renovations and improvements both to the exterior and interior currently under way.  Tickets priced at €20.00 are currently on sale at Grays, Owens, Killeshandra Post Office, Arva Post Office, Lynch’s & Brady’s of Arva, MacSheain’s Cornafean Members of Parish Finance Committee or by ringing 087 9080817.. Admission to the concert is by ticket only so buy early and avoid disappointment. There will also be numerous spot prizes on the night. National Grandparents Pilgrimage to Knock

The annual Grandparents Pilgrimage to Knock takes place on Sunday 8th September, Chief Celebrant will be Fr. Fintan Monahan, Guest Speaker will be Sr. Breige McKenna, and Guest Singer is Dana. Children’s prayer appeal-an invitation to all children to write a prayer for their grandparents,all prayers will be blessed at the pilgrimage. 2pm Anointing of the Sick – 3pm Pilgrimage Mass

Boxing Club 

Reopens on Tuesday 3rd September at 7pm.  We currently have 3 Connaught Champions in our Club. Male & females aged 8 years and upwards are welcome to join. Entrance to Club is beside Cumiskey's shop.

Ballinamore Running & Walking Group

This group was formed to enable walkers, joggers & runners of all fitness levels to meet weekly & train together providing a safe & social environment for outdoor exercise. Next outing will be next Tuesday night at 8pm leaving from the canal basin across from Supervalu. All Welcome whether walking, jogging or running for this free & fun group!!! Athletic Club

With the track and field season coming to an end cross country activity will soon commence.  The first event will be the Leitrim Primary Schools at the end of September. Club training will resume at beginning of October .

Heartbreak to Healing

If you have suffered the loss of your spouse/partner by death or by separation/divorce, then the Heartbreak to Healing programme is for you. The Support Group is non pro fit making and non- denominational and is completely confidential. The programme will commence on Tuesday September 17th and run for seven consecutive Tuesday nights, concluding on October 29th. We return to our fortnightly meeting on Sept 12th at 3pm in Trathnona.  Looking forward to meeting everyone after the summer break.  New members always welcome.

Culture Night At Solas Gallery

Friday 20th September 2013 We are celebrating Culture Night with a difference this year at Solas Gallery. It will be a CELEBRATION OF OUR CULTURAL DIVERSITY and we are inviting all of our members and friends of the gallery to take part. YOU can be part of this evening and we are inviting contributions in the form of talks, song, music, performance art etc. Contact the gallery if you would like to take part. There will be slots available from 3 minutes upwards! You will need to let us know ahead of time though so we can plan the night.
