Belfast to Knock Peace Walkers
We are now just a few days away from having our friends from Belfast pass through our town as they walk to Knock over five days on their Peace Pilgrimage. This is the twentieth year of the walk and over those years the parish has always opened their hearts and homes to the walkers and have been most generous and supportive in providing beds for those walking the pilgrimage. Hopefully this year will be no exception and if you can give a bed for even one walker it will be much appreciated. “I was a stranger and you invited me in “truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:35-40 If you can provide a bed Please call 071 9644800 and leave your name and number or you can come along to the Mass on Thursday and we will connect you with your guest who will have walked from Clones that day and will be glad to get a bed for the night, thanks to those who have already come forward with offers but at the moment we really do need more. Fr. Sean Kelly is Chaplin to the walkers this year and they will be offering the Mass on Thursday evening as a Memorial to Fr Duffy. The mass will be on this Thursday 18th July at 8pm. All are welcome to come and experience the Mass, the music and the liturgy that the Cursillio members bring to their celebrations.

Local Business Pro Trailers & Machinery support the Irish National Sheepdog Trials
From August 1st to 3rd 2013, Roscommon will play host to one hundred and fifty of the best dogs and handlers in the country, in addition to nine brace dogs(‘brace’, meaning two dogs with one handler), who will compete against eachother over the space of three days, for the honour of being crowned Irish Champion and representing Ireland in competitions overseas. The fifteen single dogs and the two brace dogs receiving the highest points will go forward to represent Ireland at Warrickshire in the UK in September 2013. In addition to this, the highest-pointed 24 dogs will go forward to represent Ireland at Tain, north of Scotland, in 2014. It’s set to be a jam-packed few days, with something for the whole family - including sheep showing, vintage displays, trade stands and exhibitors from across the board. On Saturday, August 3rd, there will be a family day with several activities for children, including face painting and a bouncing castle, among other activities, all of which will be free of charge.

This Year’s Ballinamore Free Fringe Festival!
The festival this year will also see international acts along with artists from every county in the country make their way to Leitrim and make Ballinamore their home for the four day event. In speaking with Tracy Murray, she spoke of the excitement there is this year with the festival drawing attention from countries such Australia, Finland, Germany, UK and America making their way to Ballinamore. “We’re thrilled to welcome some fantastic talents from all across the world this year and I’m really excited about the reaction and feedback that is coming back from the other side of the world. The festival is all about creating a platform for entertainers to perform and it’s just so great to see such a fantastic buzz about Ballinamore and emails coming in from places such as far away as America and Australia asking to come play in Ballinamore. Also we’re thrilled to have such a huge number of musicians and artists travelling from all over the country and to think there are musicians from every county flying their county flag in Leitrim is such an honour. At this point, the festival plans are all well underway but I really need helping hands at this point just to make sure the 1200 performers who are coming to Ballinamore receive the best welcome possible. It just would be great to have more people involved and one thing I can promise is we’ll have a great old time together.” For more information on the festival you can pop along to www.ballinamorefreefringe.com
