4 Locks Cycling Club
The new cycling club, 4 Locks Cycling Club is going a bomb and is very well attended! The newly formed club have had three cycles so far. They meet on a Sunday morning at the courthouse Ballinamore at 9 a.m if you would like to join us.

Scrap Metal Collection
Last chance to clear out and get rid of all your unwanted scrap metal, only 3 weeks left There is a collection at Wisleys Car Wash on the Carrigallen road, in aid of Abbey Rovers Soccer Club, for the next few weeks only. The last collection helped greatly with the clubs running expenses. We would like to thank you for your support in the past and your continued support. No fridges, microwaves, TV's or plastic, just metal please.

Make a Difference to Palliative Care Through Voices4Care.
Through Voices4Care AIIHPC is committed to having the views of people receiving palliative care (service users), their carers or former carers, and people from the wider community with an interest in palliative care, at the heart of what they do. AIIHPC focuses on palliative care education, research, policy and practice. In the context of AIIHPC’s work, Voices4Care will share and discuss issues which will inform how best to care for people. Voices4Care will be a volunteer group. Millennium Choir Concert
You are invited to attend this annual treat in our beautiful St Patrick’s Church Mohill on Thursday next 21st at 8.00pm. It features the Magnificent Millennium Choir and Orchestra led by Fintan Farrelly, Local Soloists, and St. Manchan’s Children’s Choir. Tickets at €12 and €10 concession are for sale in Baxter’s Supermarket or Pauls. Patrons can also pay on the night. For those who can’t attend at the Mohill venue, there will be a repeat performance in St. Mary’s Church Carrick-on-Shannon the following night 22nd. You just can’t afford to miss it.

Badminton
Leitrim Closed Juvenile Badminton Championships will be held in B’more Sports Complex on Sunday the 24th March next, starting at 10am. Closing date for entries is 22nd March. Competitions from U9 to U19, boys and girls, single and doubles. Final club training sessions for this and the Community Games is on Tues 7 to 9pm and Thurs 7 to 8.30pm. The Sky at Night
If you are interested in astronomy or just simply fascinated by the night sky then Ballinamore Library is where you need to be on Tues 26th Mar at 8pm when Christophe Lombardi with Ben Quinn will give a talk on the sky at night. This March there is a comet, galaxies and a star cluster for us to enjoy in the night sky so come along and learn more about these astronomical beauties. As Patrick Moore said “Astronomy’s a fascinating subject. You look up….you can’t help getting interested and it’s there” Remember: Ballinamore Library: Tuesday 26th March at 8pm and ADMISSION IS FREE

Ballinamore Women’s Group
A weekend trip to Letterkenny, staying in the Mount Errigal Hotel from the 17th to 19th of May is been organised by Ballinamore Women’s Group. Total cost which includes two bed & breakfast, one evening meal and a trip to Malin Head is €145. A deposit of €50 must be paid on or before the 3rd of April to book a place. Further enquirers to any member of the Womens group.

Crafty Ladies Carrigallen
Crafty Ladies will be meeting for coffee morning in the shop @ Post Office in Carrigallen 22nd March 10am-12. Linda Pitt will be demonstrating cooking using a halogen cooker. All welcome!

Applications are now open for Leitrim LIVECRAFT ¦ Creative Training Programme
Leitrim LIVECRAFT is a Leitrim Development Company project developed under the Rural Development LEADER Programme. It a unique training programme implemented by the Leitrim Design House in association with the Leitrim Sculpture Centre. It is a creative training programme supporting economic activity in County Leitrim. LIVECRAFT aims to re-energise and expand the possibilities of the craft sector in County Leitrim as a contribution to economic regeneration and sustainable growth by drawing on the county and all it has to offer.
Why should I become involved? If you would like to learn a new skill; re-energise your business; develop your professional and business skills; or explore your creativity then this could be the programme for you. Register early as places are limited. Each practical skills training has an average of 6-8 places available.
Where is it happening? The practical training will take place in the Sculpture Centre, Manorhamilton while the business development training will take place in the Leitrim Design House, Carrick-on-Shannon.
When will it start? The programme will launch on April 12th with a Creative Thinking Day which is open to all participants. The overall programme will run from April 2013 to December 2013.

Pilgrimage to Fatima 2013
The annual pilgrimage to Fatima takes place from the 1st August to the 8th August 2013. 7 nights full board ensuite in the Tres Pastorinhos Hotel which is situated beside the sanctuary. Cost €739. Church Street, Ballinamore, Sunday Service is at 12.15pm every Sunday except on the 4th Sunday which is held in Drumreilly Church, Drumreilly

Darts
Both semi-finals in the Ballinamore Knock Out competition were played last Friday night. McGirl’s had a narrow win over Freddie’s in a very exciting match played in Jackie’s by 5 games to 3. Shortt’s (A) just edged in against Jackie’s in the other semi-final played in McGirl’s by 5 games to 4. The final will be played next Friday night the 22nd of March in Fenagh between McGirl’s and Shortt’s (A) starting time 10.30pm
