Ballinamore Pool League
The Final of the Ballinamore Pool League between Shortts (B) and Jackie’s (A) took place in the Poor Scholar on Friday night last in front of a great crowd and it didn't disappoint,
1 Aidan Creamer v Sean Quinn finished 2-0 in favour of Aidan for Jackies (A) who had a very impressive debut in the League this year.
2 Shane Creamer V Damien Mc Govern finished 2-0 in favour of Damien for Shortts (B) who has to be "player of the year" as he finished the League unbeaten.
3 Gary Murray V Enda Egan finished 2-0 in favour of Enda for Shortts (B) and his double potting must make him one of the best in the League.
4 Darren Creamer V Sean Costello finished 2-1 in favour of Darren for Jackies and two of the best potters around could of gone either way and a pot on the black by Sean in the  deciding Leg unfortunately saw the white go in as well to add to the excitement and meant the Final was going all the way.
5 Ronan Beagan V Christy Shortt finished 2-1 in favour of Christy with the best finish on the night going to Ronan in the first game who cleared 3 reds and the black to really put the pressure on Shortts but experience told in the End and Christy won the two final legs to win it for Shortts in a Brilliant Final that had it all.
Sean Corrigan and Gerry Mc Govern missed out for Shortts in the Final but contributed hugely in helping Shortts (B) to Top the League before the Semi-finals.
A huge Thanks to David and his staff for a great night, Michael for Refereeing and to all the supporters and players for their support on the night.
The Looby Cup starts this Friday Night and the teams drawn first have home advantage, the fixtures are :-
Jackies (B) v Bobbyjo's

Jackies A Bye.
Mc Cartin SD Summer Outings
With dancing lessons concluded for summer holidays, pupils from the Mc Cartin SD enjoyed two outings recently. The younger pupils experienced a fun filled day at Funtasia Water Park in Drogheda where swimming, bowling and an activity-centre entertained the dancers. The senior pupils had a unique intimate experience with a trip to the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin to see the outstanding show Riverdance.  Like true VIP’s the pupils were brought back stage to meet the cast, pose for photographs and had a question and answer session with the cast members. Many thanks to the parents for assisting with the supervision on the trips. For photographs and more info on the trips see the Mc Cartin SD website www.mccartinsd.wordpress.com or Facebook www.facebook.com/mccartinsd
