Darts
the finals of the Drino Cup Singles competition were played on Friday night the 30th of March last, thirty two players took part on the night, and there were some great games and great darts thrown all night. At the money end of the competition it was down to the last four, where Paul Maguire played Richie Venton in the first semi-final, Paul winning that one easy by (3) legs to (0) in the second, semi-final Eugene McDermott played Vernon Donohoe, it was much closer Eugene winning by (3)legs to (2). The final was the best of seven legs between Paul Maguire representing McGirl, and Eugene McDermott representing Jackie’s. Paul winning by (4) legs to (1) was the outstanding player all night and deserved to win the Cup for the first time. Thanks to everyone who took part, thanks to Terry Shortt for refreshments and once again to Packy and Bernie Murphy for running the show. There is one more competition left to play and that takes place next Friday night the Friday 20th of April, it’s a singles competition, confined to all players under (25) years of age who took part in this year’s leagues. The venue is Freddie’s starting time is 10pm.

Catholic Singles is an organisation which helps single adult Catholics of all ages meet, either one to one or through social events. Please tel. 0161 941 3498, visit the website www.catholicsingles.org.uk or email info@catholicsingles.org.uk
Please note that whilst we have many separated & divorced Catholics amongst our members (I am widowed myself), we do not encourage them to remarry, though they do of course meet socially and for friendship, and a link to the A.S.D.C. is on our website. We are now fairly well known, and have raised forty three thousand pounds for charities & parishes over the last eleven years, but If you would like to receive more information about Catholic Singles please let me know. We are very grateful for previous help in this respect from parishes such as your own, which is vital if we are to continue,
