a knitting club is held in the Ballinamore Library every Tuesday morning at 11am.  All welcome, experience not necessary just interest.

Ballinamore Area Senior Citizens Christmas Party

Ballinamore Festival Dates

This year’s festival will be held from the 7th to 14th August, and the Show Day is on the Tuesday 9th August. Put these dates into your diary and pass on the dates to all.

Church of Ireland
The Church of Ireland, Church Street, Ballinamore, Sunday service is at 12.15pm every Sunday except on the 4th Sunday which is held in Drumreilly Church, Drumreilly.

Ballinamore Bridge Club
The bridge club will restart on Thursday 27th in the Commercial Hotel.  Beginners at 7pm, normal play at 7.30pm

Mohill Family Support Centre Outreach Office in Ballinamore

Mohill Family Support Centre is now providing an outreach service for families in Ballinamore and surrounding parishes.The Ballinamore Outreach Office is operating on Wednesdays from 1.30pm – 4.30pm in La Nua office (upstairs), Main Street, Ballinamore. The Ballinamore outreach office can provide a wide variety of services, advice and support to families. Ballinamore Parent & Toddler Group
Ballinamore Parent and Toddler Group every Wednesday morning in the Tráthnóna Centre in Ballinamore town from 11.00am – 12.30pm. All adults / parents / grandparents who are in the company of babies and toddlers are invited to come along  for a cup of tea & a chat while children mix & play! Pilates Class
Eight week Pilates class is taking place in Fenagh Visitor Centre, starting Wednesday morning the 2nd of February 2011 from 11.00am to 12.15noon. €65 per person for 8 weeks. Line Dancing Classes
Line dancing classes will begin in Fenagh Visitor Centre on Wednesday the 26th of February 2011 from 8 – 9pm. Ideal for all age groups, it is a fun way to get fit or keep fit. Sarah Mulligan from Mohill will be taking the class, and said that she will be  mainly demonstrating line dancing but will also be getting involved in some more fun activities. ATHLETIC CLUB - Training resumes at the Sports Hall in Tuesday evening next at 6.00 p.m. and all, including new members, are welcome. Preparations will commence for the various Indoor Athletics events which will take place over the next three months. These will include the Leitrim Indoor Championships in Carrick on Sunday February 13th, the Connacht Championships in Nenagh and the proposed new Primary Schools Sports Hall Athletics competition to be run in conjunction with the Leitrim Sports Partnership.

SPORTS HALL - The full Winter Programme resumes this Monday and will continue until late March. The Wednesday evening programme is being re organised and a position exists for one further booking which will be allocated on a first come basis by phoning 9644207 without delay.

Ballinamore Active AgeComputer training classes will commence on Tuesday 11th January 2011 in the Vocational School, Ballinamore from  7.00 – 9.00p.m and will run on Tuesdays at the same time for five weeks finishing on 8th February 2011. Next meeting will take place at 3.00p.m. in Tráthnóna on Thursday 20th January 2011.

LDC in conjunction with FÁS wish to recuit participants for the NEW HORIZONS TRAINING PROGRAMME offering Fetac Awards at Level 3 in Vocational Employment Skills and Level 4 in Applied Employment Skills.  Starting 17th January for 48 weeks, in Lough Allen Centre, Drumshanbo.  Participants must be aged 18 – 25 and eligibility criteria will apply. Comedy Show – 4 weeks to go

Our Comedy Show will be on stage in four weeks time. The name of the show will be decided on shortly and it will be on stage in Ballinamore Community Centre on Friday 11, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 February. It will also be staged at other venues in the County. It promises to be a hilarious night’s entertainment with traditional comedy at its best. Tell all of your friends and acquaintances that it is coming up..

Clothing Bank: As part of our Green School’s Recycling Project and also to raise funds for our school, St. Patrick’s Boys’ NS now have a clothing bank on the school grounds.  All clean, used clothing, shoes etc can be put in a plastic bag and placed in the clothing bank, which will be emptied regularly.  The school will receive €4 per bag of clothing recycled.  We would appreciate any support you may give to this project.

Speech and Drama Classes starting up in the Shaylin Centre, Ballinamore on the 13th of January for children aged between 7 and 11 years. Classes will take place on Thursdays from 4pm until 5pm and will be run by a qualified Teacher.  During the class, the children will work on aspects of Voice, Drama, Acting and Mime, in a fun and imaginative environment. ATHLETIC CLUB - Training has finished for the Christmas break and will resume, if weather permits, on Tuesday January 11th at 6.00 p.m. when the emphasis will be on preparation for Indoor and Sports Hall Athletics. If the event is not postponed and weather permits travel six of our members are scheduled to compete in the All Ireland Uneven Ages Cross Country Championships in Tullamore this Sunday.

Weightwatchers is in the Commercial Hotel every Wednesday from 6.45 to 7.45 New Pro Points.  Everyone welcome.
