Christmas Whist Drive – The Christmas whist drive will be held in the Ballinamore Community Centre on Thursday December 2nd at 8.30pm. This Christmas whist drive includes hampers and many great sponsored prizes. Starting time of 8.30pm, beginners welcome.
Christmas Shoeboxes
Clare Mc Loughlin (Drumshanbo) and Ann marie Mc Niff (Keadue) would like to say a sincere thank you to everyone who donated shoebox (Christmas present) to their recent appeal for Outreach Moldova. It was with great delighted that we watched over 500 shoeboxes set off on their 3000km journey to Moldova last Saturday. These shoeboxes will make dreams come true this Christmas and bring the magic of Christmas back into the lives of these children .

Tráthnóna Social Housing
The St Vincent de Paul Society in Ballinamore has 25 housing units at Tráthnóna, on the Cavan Road at the edge of the town. At the centre of the complex is a social centre where residents meet for various activities and to where a physiotherapist comes on a number of days each week. The units are occupied mostly by Senior Citizens at a nominal rent. As the year draws to a close, the waiting list for the houses is being updated, so if there is anyone who would like to be put on the list please contact any member of the local St Vincent de Paul or phone 086 1236207.

To all those who bought and sold tickets, who supported the event on the night, to all the people who worked on the night – especially Damien Hamill, who coordinated the event and John O’Connell who acted as MC. World Youth Day
will take place next year in Madrid (August 15th 21st). A group of young people from the diocese between the ages of 18 and 30 will travel with groups from the dioceses of Clogher and Dromore. An information night on World Youth Day will take place in the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre, St. Patrick’s College, Cavan, on Friday December 3rd at 8.30pm. Everyone is welcome. A Christmas Liturgy Workshop will take place in the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre, St. Patrick’s College, Cavan, on Saturday December 4th between 11am and 1pm. Three simple proposals for the Christmas liturgies will be presented at the workshop which might be of some use to Parish Liturgy Groups as they plan ahead. Everyone is welcome.

New Gospel Choir for South Leitrim. -
A new Ecumenical Gospel Choir is being formed in the South Leitrim area. The aim of this choir is: (a) to bring people from all religions and cultural backgrounds together to share and enjoy gospel music and (b) to work towards achieving a standard that will enable us to perform for theatres, corporate events, charity events etc. Gospel music is the soul of religious music! Now that the long cold nights are here and Christmas is just around the corner, it is an ideal time to pay a visit to the local library and browse through the large selection of books there, with something to suit all tastes. Now in sock you will find a cheery selection of Christmas books for children and these can be borrowed free of charge. Another treat which will be available in the library on Saturdays at 11am and 2pm is a showing of one the Scor videos, so why not relive the fun and excitement of Scor in a warm friendly environment and all free of charge.
