Senior Citizens Annual Mass
the annual Senior Citizen mass takes place next Wednesday night 29th September in Tráthnóna Community Centre at 8pm. Refreshments will be served after the mass, followed by music and dancing. Everyone is welcome and please bring a friend.

SPORTS HALL USERS
A number of regulars have now recommenced activity in the Sports Hall. To avoid clashing a programme for the period up to the end of October is being compiled this week so any group wishing to use the Sports Hall during that time should ring 9644207 for immediate booking. The Winter Season will commence on Monday November 1st and booking forms will be circulated later.
Sporting Chance Programme
National Learning Network Kerry is currently recruiting for its Sporting Chance programme, a free course providing training in the sport and leisure industry for those unemployed due to disability, injury or learning difficulty. It is free to all participants. The last competition was held on Sunday 4th Sept at Commagh Lake.

Ballinamore Sea Anglers
Fished on August 21st & 22nd. First day was a competition against a Dublin Club – Ballinamore won;
Bob O’Callaghan got 1st prise for most fish. Day two was for the largest fish. Master angler John Creamer won with a 15lb Conger Eel, in fact the trawler skipper reckoned John A was one of the most natural deep sea anglers he had come across in a long time. Well done to all who took part, it was a very enjoyable weekend.
Ballinamore Bridge Club
The bridge season will start again this Thursday 23rd September at 8pm in the Commercial Hotel, High St. Please come along if you intend playing bridge this year, we will have a short meeting to ascertain how many tables we will have. Our past beginners will be very welcome, also anyone wishing to learn why not come along and have a look.
Ballinamore Agriculture Show Society
A meeting of the Show Committee will be held on Tuesday night next 21st September in the Community Centre at 9pm. The main item on the agenda is Review of Show 2010.
Ballinamore Agriculture Show Society – Ballinamore Agriculture Show Society would like to thank everyone who helped to make this year’s event such an outstanding success. In particular we thank all our exhibitors and judges, many of whom travelled long distances. Without the support of our sponsors and subscribers it would be impossible to organise the show. The society is indebted to the various businesses for their continued support. Once again we thank the Creamer family for the use of their fields and Smith families for the use of their premises. We also thank all those involved in organising the Show Dance and the many patrons who attended the event. Finally a special word of thanks to all stewards who worked so hard over several days. A special thank you to Pat Beirne who assisted us with the marquee, and Brian Sweeney, Lietrim Civil Defence and also Leitrim County Council and the Gardai.
Bodywhys – the National Voluntary agency for Eating Disorders are holding an information evening on Wednesday the 29th of September at 7:30pm in the Cavan Crystal Hotel, Dublin Road, Cavan. The purpose of the evening is to provide public information on eating disorders, information on where to access help, support groups in the area and seek volunteers for support groups. The evening is open and free for all to attend.

The Church of Ireland, Church Street, Ballinamore, Sunday service is at 12.15pm every Sunday except on the 4th Sunday which is held in Drumreilly Church, Drumreilly.
Ballinamore Active Age – Swimming Classes will commence on Wednesday 22nd September 2010 at Riversdale Pool from 11.45am. – 12.30p.m and will run for eleven consecutive weeks on Wednesdays at the same time. Water Aerobics Classes will commence on Thursday 23rd September 2010 at Riversdale Pool from 11.45a.m. – 12.30 pm and will run for ten weeks. Five of our Members have opted to participate in Arts Day on Monday11 th October 2010. We have planned to go to Lough Derg on next Monday 20th September 2010.Bus will leave the Square at 8.00a.m. and return at 6.00p.m.

Helping Your Child to Read
Ballinamore Library has some new sets of Reading Series that help your child to read or develop independent reading. The series consist of finely graded readers so that the child can progress along at a pace that suits their level. These are colourful attractive books with topics suitable for both boys and girls. It costs nothing to take out children’s books from Leitrim Libraries. Ballinamore Library is open every day 10 am t 5.30pm Monday to Friday, until 8pm on Tuesday and Thursday and from 10 to 5pm on Saturday.
Book Launch
The launch of Corraleehan Church’s rededication book will be held on the 24th of September in Feehans Bar Corlough. The night promises to be very enjoyable for all, Tommy Moran will launch the book and refreshments will be served.
The book itself traces the history of the Church from 1838 until the present day, and also gives an insight into the life and times of its people. It features pictures of weddings, christenings etc down through the years with everybody in the parish being represented.
